“The checking was easy & staff were friendly,
The room is up 2 flights of stairs, it is very dated & could do with some tlc.
The walls had splatter & marks where something had run down them & the bathroom was dirty in the corner.
We couldn't get any hot water from the taps so used the kettle which didn't turn itself off.
The toilet seat is so cheep that it bends when you sit on it. although the bedding was clean.
The window cill had been burned with a cigarette by the look of it & outside the……

“Our accommodation was in a block beside the castle. The window was painted shut, beds were poor, a long walk to toilets and showers and no facilities in the room. The restaurant was closed. I'm ex military and have seen better army barracks.”

“Great location for the waterfalls, the rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. There is a nice restaurant attached to the Hotel drinks are expensive but the food is reasonable, not the quickest service but if you are not in a rush it's fine. The bath could do with updating and a plug in the sink didn't fit well (put a flannel round plug fitted ok) Having a lot of work done to the front which will be nice when finished.”

“Nice looking hotel in a lovely location. It is conveniently located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park making it ideal to get out and about either walking, hiking, and cycling in the surrounding area.
Waterfall country is about a 30 minute drive away.
Very friendly and polite staff.
Food was on the slightly pricey side but it was excellent quality.
Can’t comment on the pool, spa or gym facilities as we did not use them.
The hotel ceilings as well as the room we stayed in……

“Alles was heel proper, de kamers op het gelijkvloers leken al een make over gehad te hebben, de kamers op bovendieping nog niet. Er is geen lift aanwezig, dus als je slecht te been bent, beter beneden boeken.

“A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. I booked a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the river and the view was wow! On the hottest Bank Holiday for years, I left the French doors……
