“We stayed here to travel to the eclipse and experience Marfa. The house is small but comfortable and had everything we needed. The steam shower is a must (especially in the dry desert). An absolutely enjoyable stay.”

Amazing views from the porch were great for those not looking for so much activity, and the home is conveniently located for those wanting to check out the Davis Mtns State Park, McDonald Observatory, Fort Davis, or the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute. The kitchen was thoughtfully supplied and made cooking for 4 for the visit……

“The room was very well appointed and set up. Very clean. If you’re staying during a weekend be prepared to join a little party and dance. Overall great place to stay. Wish it was available for my second night in west Texas. ”

“We loved our stay at Prairies Cottage. The property was clean and comfortable, check in information was communicated early and was very easy! We didn’t have tons of time to use the backyard but the kids explored it and it looked like it would be awesome if you have kids and want to be sure they are safe and having fun outside while you make dinner (or while eating dinner!). We have three kids and they loved all sleeping in the one room together! Made an excellent place to stay while we explored……

“A wonderful new little cabin that is SUPER clean. Great location. However, hot water runs out quickly due to the property having just a 1/2 tank hot water heater. So plan your usage accordingly!!!!”

“Needed a 4 bedroom to accommodate my all-male family outing and this now then met our needs. Nicely appointed and the master bedroom was quite special! Loved it and will be back.”

“Surprisingly functional! We enjoyed the tiny house experience and it was cool to use the induction cooktop. Only thing we would have liked that we did not have was a toaster. Also be aware there are no laundry facilities but we planned ahead and did laundry before we arrived. ”

“Wasnt what we expected. Didn't realize it was right on main street. The house smelt old. Couch was not comfortable and the TV was way to high to watch without your neck hurting. Bed was comfortable. The house that showed from outside was not the house. It was just ok for one night. Slept good though.”

“My friends and I stayed here to hike Big Bend. The beds were super comfy and the couches were so nice to relax on after a day at the park. We appreciated the 3 TVs as well. Alpine is such a cute town with lots a little restaurants and food trucks to eat at. Would stay again!”

The house was very comfortable for two couples and we enjoyed some time out on the front porch. Very convenient for our trips to McDonald Observatory and Davis Mountain State Park.
