We had just arrived after traveling from Denver to Miami. I needed to confirm that this was the check-in point for our room, several different lodging room entities seem to be managed from the same office. The man behind the counter said we were at the right place for check-in but the room was not ready and we would have to come back at 4pm to do so. Completely understand the rule however the response was delivered in a non welcoming way and seemed we were interrupting their day. My wife needed to use the restroom so I asked if there was one available he said ya up there. My wife went in to find the restroom was marked out of order?? So we left to find a restroom within walking distance. One was found. 2 of a mile away. We spent the afternoon getting familiar with the area and having lunch before returning at 4pm for check-in. Different people there then but just the same type of welcome as the first. We went to our room finding the place in need of much work and the windows were very dirty and the blinds wouldn't retract out of way. The kitchen had no utensils making it useless the refrigerator worked. But the windows didn't open they were broken so they had been siliconed shut. Then the shower water had to run for 20 minutes before getting somewhat warm not sure where the waterheater was located. The cleaning consisted basically of dropping off new towels everyday. The stove was not functional, drawers in the kitchen were broke, the room appeared overall to be clean. The housekeeping personnel were pleasant. It was very disappointing to have over $200 added to my stay as soon as we arrived. The woman explaining the charge was very unpleasant and vague as to what $50 per day was for as resort charges. Just told me it was probably listed as an additional expense on Expedia and I should have read it. Would not rent from this property group again. Best spot so many nice add ons like there being 5 different pools bike rentals come at a discounted price I’m from miami and seeing the prices plus all the extras was really welcoming. Hotel address online is for the complex and not the front office for checkin -which was 2 blocks away and we had no way of knowing this until our uber dropped us off . The phone numbers listed on the building was for a maintenance company that no longer took care of the Neptune but were able to get us the correct phone number for the front desk . Website also listed room service , we called to request and the front desk told us “DoorDash is cheaper “.
