"Having dined here several times under the previous owners, this was, however, our first time staying at the Open Arms (now under new ownership). We were not disappointed. Dinner was as delicious as before (though we were sorry to see that the haggis wellington option was no longer on the menu). My partner’s severe pork allergy was catered for with an alternative option for his breakfast & staff seemed well aware of this - thank you. Our room was clean, comfortable & had all the amenities we needed for our stay. (The only thing to mention is that when the shower went on, it made an extremely loud whistling noise throughout which should be looked at.) Relaxing by the fire on a wild & wet afternoon was just the tonic on this short break. The staff cannot be faulted. All were friendly and welcoming, but special mention must go to the dark-haired lady who may be the reception manager (?) who made you feel as if you were a guest in her home. We will definitely be back! Andrew & Claire "

"We’ve stayed in a few places in Gullane and this didn’t disappoint. A really brilliant location, great facilities and dog friendly which is always a winner with our 2 spaniels who loved the garden especially when they found tennis balls!"

"The cottage was clean, well appointed and made for a pleasant stay. It is in the heart of the village with food and coffee shops very close by, and just a short walk to the local pub. The beach is 10 minutes walk away, and Gullane is a lovely spot to explore from. "
