When planing a trip there be sure to call the hotel and get any tips you can from the front desk…..they were very helpful for my trip due to timing arrival at Oktoberfest time……also got tips to getting out into traffic during the busy time……very helpful staff!

The Helendorf is a great in-town stay. Very good location, in walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The feel of the town's Bavarian theme is absolutely charming, and The Helendorf certainly captures that very well. Well maintained, plenty of parking, and very comfortable. A great value as well.

This stay has a very unique atmosphere. The hotel is decorated like a fairy tale village and nestled right on the side of the river. The number one reason we chose to stay here was the location being walkable to anything in town. Most the hotels in the area are a lot further of a walk to the downtown. This hotel was pleasant to stay at. It might be seen as a little dated, but even so it has a lot of charm that more than makes up for that. We really enjoyed being able to walk right down to the river and enjoy the cool refreshing water. Definitely worth staying here if you’re planning on visiting Helen!

This was such a fun little hotel that I would absolutely stay in again. The view is fantastic, the rooms had that authentic Bavarian charm, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was good.

Good location in middle of town. There are several buildings, some of which back to the river which is nice. Location & walkability best features. Hotel is older & needs some maintenance but room was clean & spacious.
