"They, the staff, exceeded my expectations . Courteous, helpful, kind and pleasant are words that I would use to describe them. Everyone greets you with a bow and civility, right down to the hardest workers in the hotel. For that, i will surely come back. My stay at the Prince Hotel East was worth every yen and then some. I originally was suppose to stay at the Sunvalley Hotel, in Shiga Kogen. I lost my reservation there due to payment issues. I was hesitant about coming to the Prince Hotel. It was my first time. The room i stayed in was probably one of the best i have seen for the price. The next time I am in Shiga Kogen, i am staying at the Prince Hotel East, without a doubt."

"We had an exceptional stay from the moment we were warmly welcomed at check-in until our seamless departure. The hospitality was impeccable, and the thoughtful welcome drinks were a lovely touch rarely experienced in Japan hotels. The room was beautifully spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. My son especially loved enjoying his own onsen experience in the bathtub, which made our stay even more memorable. The refillable water provided by the hotel was another thoughtful convenience that we truly appreciated. The frequent shuttle service to Karuizawa train station added great ease to our travels and enhanced the overall experience. A truly wonderful stay that exceeded expectations — we look forward to returning again."

"The hotel is in a very convenient location, only a few minutes from the station, with a Lawson store right next to it and a supermarket nearby. The room is spotlessly clean and spacious. All the staff are nice and accommodating. They also provide a shuttle service to the station and to the Prince Ski Resort, which is very helpful. Our only comment is that we wish they could improve their breakfast service with better food options and presentation. Overall, it’s good value for money. We had a great stay and will definitely stay again."

"Our stay at Toyoko Inn Takasaki Station Nishi 2 was average, but there were a few disappointing aspects. Although we had clearly mentioned at the time of booking that we require a vegan breakfast, the hotel was unable to accommodate this request. It would have been helpful if this had been communicated in advance, as dietary requirements are important for many travelers. Additionally, the room was not cleaned to the standard we expected. While it was not extremely dirty, it did not feel properly maintained or thoroughly cleaned. Communication was also a challenge, as there was a lack of English proficiency among the staff. This made it difficult to discuss our concerns and clarify basic requests. On the positive side, the location near Takasaki Station is convenient. However, improvements in cleanliness, dietary accommodation, and English communication would significantly enhance the guest experience."

My room was on the first floor and the people upstairs could be heard very easily walking around at night which was a bit loud. Besides that was okay, staff were friendly. "
