Don't miss out on this dream of a vacation cabin!! Enjoy the seclusion of a creekside mountain retreat in this 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin with private hot tub.
The property borders the beautiful Nantahala National Forest of the Great Smoky Mountains and offers an abundance of exploration. Let the sounds of the rushing waters soothe your soul day and night. Walk across our bridge to enjoy bonfires or even pitch a tent for the night on our property across the river which is lit by festive cafe lights strung around the campfire. Hike through the Nantahala National Forest right out the backdoor. Or if you prefer the creature comforts, enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, comfortable new beds (King and Queen), new gas logs in our stone fireplace, Wi-Fi, large flat screen TV in the den and another in the King Bedroom with Dish Programming. Read a book or just gaze at the river from the sunroom/sleep porch with its comfortable oversized chairs and sofa which opens into a queen sleeper sofa. Enjoy family dining at the large dining table beautifully made of reclaimed barnwood.

Conveniently located on the Wayah Road section of Mountain Waters Scenic Byway, a paved road, the home is easily accessible even during inclement weather. We're just far enough out of downtown Franklin (8 miles) to be secluded yet we're directly on the way to Wayah Bald, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Lake Nantahala and The Appalachian Trail. Franklin/Macon County has 16 local water falls, world renown gem mining, and numerous biking and hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail and Bartram Trail. Grocery shopping and restaurants are less than 10 minutes away. A quick 15 minutes to downtown Franklin you'll find antique shops, local crafts, restaurants, entertainment and two locally owned Micro Brewery Pubs. Adventures are abundant in every direction - or you may choose to never leave once you've arrived!

Cozy Creekside Cabin
The backyard was absolutely amazing, perfect in every way!! We loved playing in the creek and sitting by the fire. Drinking my coffee on the deck, listening to the creek was perfect!! The cabin was super cozy and the beds were so comfortable.

Relaxing getaway
Bearly there was a perfect place for us to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was close enough to town that we weren't stuck in a car all day, yet far enough out there to feel a sense of peace. The house was perfect for us. I suggest bringing a large sheet or blanket to throw out in the yard to just lay on and take a nap next to the stream. It was so relaxing it felt almost illegal. One thing I would note is that even though the road is not super busy, it was a bit tough to pull out of, you cant see cars coming from either direction, I did see a mirror on the trees across the way that helped a bit, but seemed to be for the opposite direction. We backed into the driveway and it was awful, but still a bit scary. All in all, an amazing property hosted by great people. We will be back and noted Kathy's other properties which we will also likely check out.

we stayed for our 1 yr wedding anniversary and it didnt disappoint. its even more beautiful in person. everything about the property was great, i dont think i can say one bad thing about it. We had a blast shopping down in town and taking hikes right off the road we were on.

Great long weekend getaway
Very cozy cabin in a great location with great amenities! The fire pit is awesome and the sounds of the stream is so relaxing! We really enjoyed the hot tub, it was a perfect ending to our days. I highly recommend staying here!

What a gem this mountain getaway turned out to be. Autumn was the perfect time for visiting the cabin. The bridge crossing the creek and the firepit area are stellar. Stayed up late into the night star gazing with lucky clear nights and no moon. Did the local hikes and a day trip to Wayah Bald which did not dissapoint. Kathy has done a super job with accomodations and the layout of the grounds.

Perfect location for hiking in the mountains.
This was a beautiful property, very private and serene with the lovely sound of the creek flowing along the property. There was easy access to hiking trails and local shopping as well as dining. The property was incredibly clean when we arrived. Check in and out instructions were easy and the host was very responsive when we encountered one minor issue. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

This place was amazing. We loved sitting by the mountain stream and enjoying the scenery. The cabin was very clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed to prepare our meals. It is a little close to the road but was not a problem for us. The hot tub is awesome and sits right beside the stream. All 4 of us loved this place!

Nice Getaway for Milestone Birthday Celebration
My wife and I stayed at Bearly There cabin for a week to celebrate our birthdays in late September. We chose the property for its level of privacy, the Wayah Creek that runs through the backyard, the hot tub, and the fire pit. These amenities did not disappoint! The property offered us a very comfortable getaway away from the pressures and stress of our day-to-day living. The pictures in the listing are 100% accurate for what you can expect at the property and the interior of the house was very comfortable as well. If I had any complaints about the property they would be the fact that the level of privacy advertised is not quite what was actually expected. After reading the description, we expected the house to be fairly "remote." In fact, there are neighbors next door, and less than 150 yards away, as well as across the street. Unfortunately, the neighbors next door have an unobstructed view of the hot tub from their patio. That definitely detracts from the sense of privacy, regardless of whether or not the neighbors are actually home or not. My other complaint was with the wifi. For whatever reason, the wifi signal was weak and faded in and out during out stay. This caused wifi-based phone calls to drop and made streaming video impossible. By far, my biggest complaint of our stay was the yappy dogs at the house across the street. All-in-all, our stay was relaxing and comfortable and I would consider going back to the Bearly There cabin again in the future.

Place was everything we were hoping it to be. Loved it and enjoyed it and as always I’ll be back to this area again. Most enjoyment was white water rafting and least favorite was don’t waste money on Santa’s Land.

Better than expected!
My husband and I, along with our son and daughter-in-love, were lucky enough to spend several days at ‘Bearly There’, and we were all throughly enchanted from the moment we stepped out of our cars! From the beautiful, rushing creek to the stunning moss-covered rocks and boulders, it was just a lovely, relaxing experience. Exactly what we all needed! The home was super clean, the couches and beds were very comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We especially loved the cool, creekside fire pit, where we enjoyed our first hotdog roast of the season! Kathy made the rental process easy and check in was a breeze. We really want to visit again, when the huge banks of mountain laurel on the property are in bloom. Or maybe during autumn, to see the fall leaves ,which I imagine will be breathtaking! My family would give this place a big thumbs up!

Wonderful Girl's Trip!
3 of us girls take a week trip to the mountains every year, this was our favorite stay. The cottage was super comfortable and well appointed. After the past few years of parkin in some scary-steep driveways,I loved pulling into a nice flat driveway. We each had our own bedroom space, one of us slept on the sleeper sofa in the sunroom, it was comfy and she loved the space. We LOVED the outdoor "amenities including the lovely hot tub directly in front of the creek, we spent a few hours in it each night. We set up our camp chairs in the creek one afternoon and soaked in the cool water. We only used the firepit one night, but it was so cute with the lights strung across the area.The landscaping around the house was simply beautiful. The cottage was in a great location to all the things we wanted to do (we explored neatby towns, went tubing, hiked to a few waterfalls, took a train ride). The only thing we weren't thrilled about was taking the trash to the dump, we went once midway through our trip and when we left. It is nearby and really it that big of a deal. I totally get why, but still not the funnest part of our trip. There was a bag in the can when we arrived and one more under the sink, we knew only 2 from check in info. One bag got a hole in it and I was bummed to have to still put it in thr back of my SUV. It would have been nice to have had a few extra bags. We would still totally stay again and I am in talks to my hubby to go up for a family trip.
