HIGH SPEED FIBER OPTIC WIFI; Tranquil Treehouse on 2.5 Acres; Affordable Luxury

Your own tranquil Treehouse with the most reliable and fastest fiber optic internet (250+mbps) in the mountains is secluded on 2.5 acres of silver birch, mountain laurel and hardwoods, only 3 miles from downtown Highlands. The charm here is magical for a perfect romantic getaway or to just get away from it all. Authors have written books here! It is a unique place from which to hike nearby Whiteside Mountain or enjoy the waterfalls, trout streams, restaurants, shopping and seasonal festivals, concerts and theater of the Highlands region.

When you first arrive, you may enter the Treehouse from the front porch, which has easy access for the mobility impaired and has stacks of firewood for your use during cooler months. You may also enter from the long, high back porch with its swing and porch lounge chairs overlooking wooded grandeur as the land falls away beneath you. Both porches run the width of the house.

You will enter the Great Room with its 22+ feet high cathedral ceiling that gives a wonderful feeling of spaciousness and windows that let in the abundance of natural light and the forest outside. You will view the beautiful dining and living room areas, the rock fireplace, and a very comfortable sofa in front of a coffee table filled with local literature of things to see and do. Just beyond, high on the back wall, you will see a 50" Smart TV with Direct TV, Roku, Netflix and more. You will be standing on thick hardwoods throughout the house.

As you look around, you will notice the dark granite counters and wood cabinets in the full kitchen. The windows by the indoor fireplace overlook the outdoor fire pit area surrounded by rocking chairs. The outdoor fire pit circle is at the end of a long gravel driveway and has a picnic table with umbrella as well as a park style grill. (This is the lower level driveway but there is also parking right in front of the cabin.)

Walk towards the back door and you can turn into the master bedroom with its comfy, king size bed and full bath. All luxury linens and towels are provided and beds will be made when you arrive. Go back to the Great Room and you can go up the stairs to the high, open loft bedroom with its queen size bed, writing desk, and full bath with shower.

The Treehouse is fully furnished. High speed fiber optic internet and WIFI and free long distance calling in the United States on the land line are provided. Mobile reception in the mountains can be spotty but if you enable WiFi Calling on your cellphone & connect to the Treehouse WiFi, reception is good.

Day or evening, you may want to swing or rock on the porch. Enjoy a beverage and the ultimate peace and tranquility of deliciously cool days and crisp nights of summer and early fall. In the late fall and winter months, a warm and cozy fire in the rock fireplace will beckon.

Highlands and Cashiers have incredible restaurants, unique shops, golf, hiking, waterfalls, and trout streams.

Thanksgiving Getaway
We treated our Mother in law to her first stay in Highlands, and this was the perfect cabin for us! It was close to town, plenty of space, and a cozy fireplace for us to sit by in the evenings. We had our 5 month old baby and dog with us as well and it couldn’t have been easier. Thank you for the great stay!

Great trip
Another great trip to the Treehouse. Everything was perfect. House is so nice and comfortable. Towels/linens being provided is a plus. It was so convenient to have a washer/dryer. And this time, we got to see a bear. We were so excited. It was just walking down the street in front of the house.

Fall Stay
Cozy cabin at roughly the midpoint between highlands and cashiers on hwy64 in a quiet neighborhood off the hwy. The fireplace is wood burning which is key to a great stay in the mountains, but is a bit on the small side. But we made it work and enjoyed the mountain fresh air on the back porch during the day and a warm fire inside on the cool nights.

We had a wonderful stay at the Treehouse. It’s so close to Highlands and not far from Cashiers either…perfect location. Very quiet little street and minutes to several great hiking spots. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. Great pet friendly house!

Appalachian Trail Recovery stay
A nice, peaceful, well furnished retreat. Loved the porch and rockers and enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. We tried a couple of the recommended restaurants in town and they were great. Host was responsive with questions. With the open loft setup it is probably better for a family with children than 4 adults in my opinion. But, it was GREAT for my wife and I. Even with good directions we found it a bit hard to find initially but loved the remote feel to it. We plan to stay again next year for a family wedding in Highlands. Highly recommend.

Great stay in the Raintree Treehouse
Great place to stay in the Highlands- Cashiers area. Close to good restaurants, food shopping, trails, dog parks, etc. Located in a gorgeous wooded area— saw a bear and an amazing rainbow—- but close to neighbors and a Dollar General. Hosts were very responsive and the place and area were very dog friendly.

Cozy Mountain Getaway
Four adults shared the property over the Memorial Day weekend and had a nice, relaxing getaway. The house is beautifully maintained and the location is quiet, yet close enough to town to enjoy dinners at the delicious Highlands restaurants. The house was immaculate, beds were comfortable and the fireplace was perfect for the chilly evenings.

Perfect for weekend wedding trip
The tree house was perfect for our weekend wedding trip. As we were busy with wedding activities, we didn’t spend much time at the tree house. All necessities were included and provided for our stay. Our 2 small dogs were welcomed and they even had blankets provided so they could sit on the couch! The water temperature and pressure was excellent for showers, the beds cozy and the furniture comfy. I especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the birds sing. The location was convenient to everything in Highlands. If you are looking for a secluded, woodsy get away, the treehouse is a cozy, quaint cottage!

Christmas in the Highlands
The Treehouse cabin was exactly as described and fulfilled our needs for our stay. We were not alone when the Artic blast over Christmas 2022 wreaked havoc on half the country. Due to temperatures below ZERO, we found out that the community well was frozen the morning of December 24th. We called Chris who contacted neighbors. It was thawed and flowing again in a couple hours. Chris was very responsive in addressing this. We were fortunate as restaurants, inns and nearby towns lost power and/or water for longer than us. If we travel to Highlands again, we will stay at The Treehouse.
