With a range of cultural highlights and an island with a tragic history, this zone is a dynamic trading port, the gateway to Seoul.

With some of the principal historic and cultural attractions of Incheon, Jung-gu is a fascinating and enlightening destination to visit. It contains a large airport and has long been a trading center for the area. Make your way through the various museums and parks to get a sense of local customs and traditions.

Among the outstanding attractions is the Jajangmyeon Museum, where you can learn about a famous noodle dish with the city’s name. Stroll past the intriguing exhibits to learn about the relationship between this culinary specialty and its place in the regional culture.

Continue delving into local food customs at the Incheon Complex Fish Market. This covered center contains all types of stalls selling exotic fish caught by local fishers in the Yellow Sea.

In the heart of the area is Jayu Park. Come here to relax and admire its impressive statues and public works of art. Marvel at the vistas of the sea and the mountains. Bordering the park’s northern side is the Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village, where the streets are decorated with colorful fairytale decorations that make visitors feel like they’re on a film set for a children’s movie.

Another family-friendly attraction in Jung-gu is Wolmido, a former island with an amusement park and nature area. It’s about half a mile to the west of Incheon and is connected to the mainland by a highway.

The Jung-gu zone covers the western side of Incheon, incorporating the archipelago off the western coast where Incheon International Airport is located. It is in the southwestern part of Seoul, in the northwestern corner of South Korea. Travel by the Seoul subway to get around the area or take a bus to one of the stops. While you’re here, check out the surrounding districts of Dong-gu, Yeonsu-gu and Namdong-gu.
