We enjoyed our stay in Guanajuato very much, and the hotel was "mostly" very good (including a view of college steps from our room window). We had 2 requests to be addressed: 1) we couldn't get the AC to work, which they resolved, 2) we noted a foul sewage-type smell coming from our bathroom (drains apparently), which was not addressed. I assume that there is very little that the hotel could do (other than major construction work) as we detected this throughout the city center, where periodically a wiff of sewage will hit you. Speaking with several people, one noted that this is less of an issue during rainy season where it is effectively washed away.
