First off, the creek in the 1st photo isn’t the front of the hotel like they make it seem, it’s off to the side on an unused area of the property. You can’t even get to the spot the pic was taken because they closed off the decaying bridge to get there. This place had so much potential, it makes me sad. The room was spacious and clean, and comes with a balcony, but it’s not very relaxing because it’s right next to a semi-busy road and passing cars can be VERY loud. Children running down the walkway or the maids cart sound like thunder. The ceiling creaks anytime the people in the room above walk around. We also had to deal with a yappy dog in the next room constantly barking. I got woken up, ALOT! Also stepped in dog crap in the parking lot in the dark.
The general store never seemed to be open during business hours, also the diner was often closed when should be open. That’s ok, food was a bit pricey for what they give you, and not that good anyway, so trying once was enough. I checked out the bar, they did have pool table but didn’t see shuffleboard table pictured. The string lights were pretty the first 2 nights but I didnt see them on after that. I was sad to see much of the property unused and “under renovations” but didn’t look like they were actually doing anything. I’m not mad I stayed here, but probably try somewhere else if I’m ever back that way.
If you are planning to stay, try to get a top floor room far from the road, and watch where you step.
