“The room was great, the staff very friendly but what was outstanding was the food, what a surprise it was, pub food is normally quite boring in my opinion but this was anything but. Pork belly mash and the most delicious red cabbage I've ever had and I've travelled a lot and eaten a lot in my travels, this was up there with the best. ”

“Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned ”

The room lacked a TV, but actually this was an absolute blessing and it made change not to reach for a remote control. Instead there was a DAB radio which was playing a soothing Classic FM when we entered our rather classy country pub hotel. Everything was to a very high standard in our room. “Parking was easy and safe. Location of the property was perfect both for accessing Dartmoor and wildlife spotting (lots of unusual birds in the grounds). Staying at Two Bridges was a treat; it is a unique hotel and has an amazing history”
