Escape to this beautiful home and enjoy the best of two worlds - both Mendocino Village and Mendocino Headlands State Park are literally at your doorstep! Take a five-minute walk to a picturesque nearby beach, stunning cliff-side bluffs, or along the expansive state park just across the street. Or if you prefer, stroll in the other direction to quaint cafés, bakeries, boutiques, restaurants, and galleries.

This home, an historical landmark built in 1881, has just the right blend of style, luxury, and rustic character. It is the perfect destination for that much-needed family vacation or heartwarming reunion of friends. Headlands View Home boasts plenty of spaces to gather together and also enjoy a bit of privacy and quiet reflection over the course of your stay - you choose! There is a large living area with both a wood-burning fireplace and zoned central heating, not to mention, gorgeous views! In a second living area, you’ll discover a gas fireplace and a small desk. Step outdoors and enjoy multiple decks with chairs and benches. Some guests could easily watch TV or play games in one living area while others read, listen to music, or reminisce in the other living area.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you will need to cook up many satisfying meals. Fourteen people can eat together using the kitchen table with leaf extensions and an adjoining bar. If you prefer cooking outdoors, just head to the back deck and turn on the gas grill.

The house provides a wide variety of sleeping accommodations. Note that most bedrooms are actually open lofts. The north wing has a bed in an open loft and a double sofabed downstairs, complete with a comfy memory foam mattress. Next to the kitchen is a small bedroom. Head upstairs to find two open lofts!

You'll be only half a mile from downtown Mendocino, nestled between old-growth redwood forests and churning ocean waves. The town itself boasts a scenic location on a headland, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. Mendocino is a treasure hunter's paradise featuring unique and stylish boutiques and galleries showcasing local art. The nearby state parks include Van Damme State Park (two miles), Russian Gulch State Park (two and a half miles), and Jackson State Forest (19 miles), so don't hesitate to pack your most comfortable hiking shoes to explore them! Rent a bike at the nearby Catch a Canoe & Bicycles, Too! (one and a half miles away) and ride along the beautiful Big River Canyon. You’ll also find delicious eats at local cafes or restaurants, including Good Life Cafe, Luna Trattoria, Cafe Beaujolais, and Patterson's Pub to name just a few. Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless, fun activities to try here such as whale watching, horseback riding, The Skunk Train (which offers railroad tours on a historic train leading through meadows and redwood forest), historic walking tours, and annual festivals.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
