![Bonner Bridge is one of North Carolina's most well known man-made structures of it's kind (The Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the most well known). This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle.

This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness. 

If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location.

"Had a great weekend. Rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staff is fantastic. Free breakfast from 6:30- 930\. Everything was delicious. Pool was fabulous. My only complaint is that you can hear EVERYTHING. Toilets flushing are loud, people in the hallway are loud. We had a room right next to the fitness room (rm 210) and when someone was on the treadmill.. it was LOUD 😂 "

"The hotel is in the middle of renovations, so there’s that. Great location and check in staff was friendly. For the price we paid for an oceanfront room, the room was ok. It had been updated, but there were cigarette ashes on our balcony and hair all over our room floor. The bathroom ceiling had mold. The neighbors that stayed near us Saturday night were obnoxiously loud til 4:30am, but that’s not the hotels fault. "
