The rental was not the problem, the surrounding area was - first of all, the street was barricaded, (which I did not know in advance), so when we arrived a kind man came down with a WAGON to take our stuff up to the rental, which was half a block away. Took three trips. Once the ordeal of this process was over, I took my dog for a walk and there was a homeless person in every store front alcove and several walking around, trying to get into a conversation with me Did NOT feel safe. Around 10 am, we heard a barrage of firecrackers and people screaming. Then, the sirens started - all kinds of first responders arrived. It was very loud all night and we didn't get much sleep. Now, I know the owners can't predict what will happen, but if I had known the street was such a party place, I would not have rented it. There was no pre notification of this nor of the barricade and, being from out of town, I had no idea about this street. Even though I had rented the place for four nights, we left the next day and moved to a hotel. I hope I can get some sort of refund.
