Property owner was responsive & nice until a few hours before our check in she contacts me with a list of the things that are wrong with the house. Sink falling in, can't use garbage disposal it will shoot out water, dryer doesn't work, swimming pool is dirty, can't use the grill, etc. We chose this property due to it's seclusion, to mourn the loss of a loved one. Yet she kept contacting us the entire stay. We were coming from out of the area so to find something else last minute for what we needed was not an option due to nothing being available & already putting all of our money into rent this property & trip expenses there. We arrive at the house & it's beyond filthy dirty. I never in a million years would have stayed there, if I had the money & option to go elsewhere. There was broken glass on the floor as soon as we walked in. The floors were so dirty, the carpet piece was stained all over. The couches were nasty with sticky stuff on it, & stuff in the cracks, old paint splatter across the couch. The kitchen sink was propped up with 2 cinder blocks. The back door wouldn't lock correctly & had a zip tie rigged to it. The bedrooms had crayon marks all over them where it looks like a kid colored on them. The fridge was so dirty, sticky stuff in it & old expired food. The entire property was so nasty it was unbelievable. I was so uncomfortable the entire stay. I didn't want to touch anything at all, let alone sleep in the bed. I took many pictures throughout the property, however it won't allow me to post. I understand it's a property in the country, but there were 6 cats on the property that kept trying to get in the house & would walk all over the car. The property owner harrassed us during our stay, because she knew she was in the wrong. What do you say to someone, when you're stuck on their property? Their was also a shed on the property that was like a tiny home, someone could have been in there, not sure. Super uncomfortable, I didn't know if they were going to show up while we were there, or what since she kept mentioning it. I've never had anyone do that before & as a woman & being in the middle of nowhere, it definitely makes you uncomfortable & in fear for your life. I thought I was going to end up on the news. Felt like a scary movie & someone was watching. So ready to leave, stayed at beach whole trip, just somewhat slept on the property(too scared). An hour before check out the owner pulls up & just sits in the driveway watching.
