"The Expedia price did not include a $45 per room Vail Resort Fee that was due upon arrival and added nothing at all in the way of amenities to my stay. I don't remember anything warning me of such a fee when I booked on Expedia. The price Expedia offered should just include this extra $45. I found it misleading and I could do nothing about it once I arrived at the hotel around 10:30 PM. The hotel itself was fine and the staff ok, just feel like I got taken by Expedia. If this is normal for Expedia, I would suggest they do a much better job of letting customers know upfront before they pay in advance and then get hit with additional fees upon arrival when it's too late to cancel and receive a refund. If there are any plaintiffs' attorneys out there reading this...."

"0/5 Stars - Absolutely Appalling Experience - AVOID AT ALL COSTS 0 DO NOT STAY HERE! I am compelled to share this horrific experience to warn other travelers. My two friends and I stayed at The Hythe a "luxury hotel" and had our trip completely ruined by what can only be described as theft by hotel staff and gross negligence by management. What Happened: A housekeeper stole our room key from inside our room and returned the following day to steal a $13,000 Rolex watch. After 48 hours of police investigation and turning our room upside down, authorities determined through key card logs that it was indeed the housekeeper who accessed our room. Hotel's Response - Completely Unacceptable Management assured us their insurance would cover the theft since it was their employee's fault Two months later, we're still in the dark with no resolution They DENIED our request for a refund despite ruining our entire trip The general manager never responded to emails and was conveniently "not on-site" We spent our last two days dealing with police instead of enjoying our vacation Staff members were on J1 visas with flights scheduled just 2 days after the incident No follow-up communication despite promises Complete lack of guest protection protocols This hotel has shown they cannot protect their guests' belongings and will abandon you when their own staff commits crimes. The financial loss is devastating, but the stress and ruined vacation are equally unforgivable. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!"

"There wasn't A/C from what I could tell only a ceiling fan. Also it's not handicapped friendly even though there's handicapped parking. Only stairs here. The toilet in our room would barely flush toilet paper. However, the staff were VERY nice and helpful with altitude sickness remedies. It's not a bad property persay but it's on the old side and isn't 100% accommodating for everyone. Fantastic view of the lake and snow capped mountains though. "

"The staff at the front desk was a step in so she was unfamiliar with the hotel and did not offer us much help with anything our first night. The next night, a guy staff member came knocking on our door and he asked my husband what he did for work, and if he worked at the hotel, and other weird personal questions and then said he had the wrong room. Besides the staff, the shades in our room were completely broke with the cord to them frayed and hanging down since they were electric, so it remained dark the whole time in our room. The shower water never got warm even after running it for 10 minutes, it was always freezing cold no matter what time of day we tried to use it. The last thing was the cleanliness, we could visibly see dirt all over the ground when we first arrived and many things were not wiped down. We did enjoy how close the hotel was to lots of dining places and grocery stores, but we will not be staying here ever again."
