Unfortunately, our stay left us feeling uncomfortable and, at times, treated differently.
From the moment we arrived, we noticed a difference in how we were treated compared with other guests. The door attendant opened the door and welcomed others, but did not offer us the same courtesy. At check-in, the receptionist was cold and unwelcoming, while we saw other guests receiving warmer attention and discussions about room upgrades.
Later, while taking a family photo near the Canada mail heritage display in the lobby, a staff member kept watching us closely. We were simply taking a photo, but the way we were monitored made us feel as though we were suspected of doing something wrong. It was embarrassing and made us feel unwelcome.
Our first room also had a loud, continuous noise from the AC. We were exhausted and could not sleep. A technician told us the noise was normal, yet we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. The second room was completely quiet. This made the earlier response even more frustrating.
I do not want to accuse anyone or make assumptions about their intentions, but the overall pattern left us feeling that we were treated differently because of our appearance or background. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every guest, regardless of their background or appearance, receives the same level of respect, warmth, and hospitality.
