This was a terrible experience. I’ve had a previous stay at this hotel and had really loved our room and it’s amenities. My partner has 2 wkds home with for the entire summer, so I decided to book us a mini getaway. We live an hour away so came up for a night out and a stay at what used to be his favourite hotel. I paid a premium price for a deluxe room. When we were checked in, we were sent to a room on the 4th floor next to a maintenance closet. The room was significantly smaller, as was the window, the washroom… etc and the furniture doesn’t really look like it belongs in the room. There were spilled coffee stains on a nightstand. I went down to the desk and asked about my room. The attendant told me they ran out of deluxe rooms so he put me there. At the very expensive price I paid, I asked what he could do. He stated he could leave a note for his manager to contact me. I stated that no, I’d like to know what he’ll do for us so I can decide whether or not I’ll be staying. He offered $100 off. I stated that I still wouldn’t pay for this room at that price, and had I known I would get this room at that price, I would have booked something much less expensive. There’s nothing special about this room. It is arguably probably their worst room. He said ok, well I can give you a late checkout… why would I want to stay longer in a room that I hate? We stayed because it was late, and I wasn’t driving out to another spot. I am at a loss for words - I will not be back.
