8.0 out of 10, Very Good, (400 reviews)
"The room looked clean and it did not smell of anything 😁, and even the hallway carpet looked clean. The cover of the second bed really needs washing, but I was alone, so did not need it. The furniture is old and the leatherette (?) armchair is extremely worn—much of the surface material is completely gone. Breakfast was good and well organized for this type of lodging. Staff was friendly. Overall, a pretty good experience for under $100. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tennessee?
The best areas to stay in Tennessee are Nashville for music and city life, Gatlinburg for mountain adventures, and Memphis for its rich history and blues.

For travelers seeking a lively urban experience centered around music, Nashville's Downtown and Midtown areas are ideal. Downtown is home to the Honky Tonk Highway along Broadway, where live music spills from every venue well into the night. You'll find iconic landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum within easy walking distance. Midtown, just west of Downtown, offers a slightly more relaxed atmosphere with upscale dining and boutique shops, but still maintains a strong connection to the city's music scene. Couples often enjoy the energy and entertainment options these areas provide, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and performance venues.

Families looking for outdoor activities and scenic beauty will find Gatlinburg, located at the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, to be an excellent choice. The Parkway, Gatlinburg's main street, is lined with attractions like Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, mini-golf courses, and various dinner shows. Access to the national park is immediate, offering countless hiking trails, scenic drives, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Many accommodations in Gatlinburg offer amenities like indoor pools and family suites, making it convenient for longer stays with children.

Memphis's Downtown area is superb for those interested in American history, particularly the blues and civil rights movements. Beale Street is the heart of the entertainment district, famous for its live music clubs and restaurants. Just a short walk away is the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, a profoundly moving experience. The Mississippi Riverfront offers pleasant strolls and riverboat tours.
When is the best time to go to Tennessee?
The best time to visit Tennessee is during the spring (April to May) and fall (September to October) when the weather is mild and comfortable.

During the spring, the state comes alive with blooming flowers and lush greenery, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities such as hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or exploring the many state parks. Temperatures are pleasant, typically ranging from the low 60s to high 70s Fahrenheit, which is great for sightseeing without the intense heat of summer.

Fall brings stunning foliage across the entire state, especially in the eastern mountainous regions. The crisp air and vibrant colors make it a popular time for scenic drives, apple picking, and attending outdoor festivals.
