“The property is well situated about half way if doing the Douro drive loop. Grounds are lovely with rooms overlooking vineyards - very serene and quiet. Lots of onsite parking. Staff encourage picking and eating fruit off the trees - the oranges are excellent! There is a nice pool area.
At check in staff member was very helpful suggesting points of interest, restaurants, etc.
The room and washroom was very dated with a large veranda. There was mold on the ceiling in the washroom. The bed was……

“You must have a car while visiting this property. Otherwise there is nothing to do. There is a very nice outdoor pool that is not heated. So it must be warm enough outside to enjoy it.
The hotel offers a nice breakfast. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel. About a half mile walk from the hotel is a very expensive restaurant with a limited menu. I don't believe it is open for lunch. Another reason you need a car.
During check in I noticed a large hose slightly larger than a dryer……

“The hotel was lovely, the staff was so kind and the entire property smelled like orange blossoms from the trees next to the hotel. The provided breakfast buffet was so good and fresh and the staff also offered individual dishes as well as espressos! My only "complaint" would be that the location has very limited restaurants, like only 3 and 2 of them were closed on Mondays! Bring some snacks and you will love the hotel!”

“We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. “Three of us stayed Tabuaco for the vineyard visit. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained; the only main issue is that there's no elevator, so we had to draw our luggage for a couple stairs to reach the lobby and then three floors to the room. “Superbe emplacement avec une vue imprenable sur le Douro — tout simplement magnifique. Les chambres ainsi que les espaces partagés sont immaculés. On a vraiment l’impression d’être dans un petit B&B chaleureux plutôt que dans un grand hôtel, ce qui rend l’exp érience très conviviale et reposante.
L’endroit est aussi très bien situé, à environ 15 minutes en voiture de Peso da Régua, où l’on trouve plusieurs excellents petits restaurants.
