“Strangle set-up. These are two hotels You check-in at the Rayland hotel, which is a 3 story nice, indoor hotel. The Dalles Inn is a 2 story motel with outdoor entrances into the rooms. There is only one sign on the east bound road showing you were you are at. I circled the buildings twice to find the entrance and a parking space for my large truck. The room was nice, the bed comfortable and the pillows sweet. It was a one night stand....in that my wife and I were only sleeping there and heading……

“In a word, Sumptuous. This was my last night of a 34 day trip from Oregon to Denali park and back via the Klondike highway. I stayed in such a variety of lodgings.. but Balch was the capstone! Historic building perfectly maintained. Elegant appointments, preserving (perhaps significantly improving?) the historic grandeur of the original venue. Things to love: -Fabulous antique building & grounds, full of antiques and beautiful art and local photography. -Cost was magnificent. For the same……

“Rooms were clean and we liked the location, easy to find. Also, the pool was small but my 8 year old had a great time, plus it was open late. Would stay here again.”

“This was a sweet B&B with a lot of thoughtful touches. They have chickens, goats and cows that you can visit. My friend and I enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. If you forget something, there are several thoughtful items in the bathroom. They have a coffee station and drug for guests to use as well as bottles of wine for purchase and use of wine glasses, yoga equipment, books, games, blankets. We truly enjoyed our hosts and our stay. Breakfast was wonderful as well!”
