Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei

10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely too notch hotel, should be five star. You are taken care of before you even enter the premises. Reception staff most welcoming, all v organised. My superior room was incredible with an outdoor mini onsen, private and luxurious. Room huge, tatami mats, spotless and smelt amazing as did the lobby. Hotel onsen was the best one Ive been to, large indoors and outdoors also with cold plunge pool and sauna. Fabulous food in the evenings, full 11 course menu in a private room, so delicious and the breakfast was buffet style so catered to all needs. Shuttle bus operates regularly all day and free. I was so sad to leave!"

"Our stay here was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their kindness, professionalism, and attention to every detail. Their hospitality truly elevated the entire experience. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, offering the perfect place to relax after exploring Kinosaki Onsen. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk from the famous bathhouses, restaurants, and the charming canal, making it incredibly easy to enjoy everything this wonderful town has to offer. One of our favorite parts of the stay was being able to immerse ourselves in the unique atmosphere of Kinosaki while returning each evening to such a peaceful and comfortable hotel. Every interaction with the staff reflected the warmth and care for which Japan is known. If you’re planning a visit to Kinosaki Onsen, I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. "Second stay at this ryokan after a perfect stay last year. Location is perfect - on the willow-lined river street close to onsens. Quiet, comfortable rooms. Public and private onsen on site, excellent dinner served at the restaurant. Air conditioning wasn’t cooling the room completely, but staff were accommodating with extra fans. Thank you Kaki for another wonderful stay."

"A good spot to stay in Kinosaki. The room itself was pretty outdated with an old tv - I really enjoy when hotel TV's have casting capabilities which this one did not. But the service and meals service was excellent, it's a self-serve buffet style dining which is great if you're a slightly fussy eater like myself. A little disappointed that the room view was blocked by netting for maintenance, which Inwas advised prior to arrival but after booking. I think some form of discount would have been nice for the inconvenience considering I had booked a river view room."
