This hotel is conveniently located to the whisky trail with Glenfiddich and Macallan distilleries being within 10min drive. Hotel has a nice restaurant on the property and there is another good one 2 min walking distance. Our room had all basic amenities and was clean. The hotel has a rustic character of a building over 100 years old. It is very lovely but it comes with old furniture, uneven floor, no AC, and no elevator. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with travel information and other needs.

Great to have a pool and gym but it’s small and seen better days. Room was spacious but tired and smelt musty. Fridge in room a bonus. Easy to walk to buses or train into Aberdeen. On-site bar and restaurant was nice. Breakfast quality not great and coffee machine had broken - there’s a Greggs opposite that would be cheaper and nicer coffee. Friendly staff. I’d rate this a 3* - like a premier inn but bed less comfy, breakfast not as good but has a pool.

Excellent location and great place to stay

Everything was great. Only the dining experience was not so pleasant. Both the dinner and breakfast staff were very unprofessional and unaware of the waiting time for food. It could be better. We have passed the feedback to the manager team. Hopefully, they can improve, as they are 5-star, not 4

Breakfast was good,staff pleasant and efficient. Only down side was a bit noisy in the evenings as it's in a popular area for night life. It's close to train and bus stations, and the main shopping malls.

The room was an ideal size for me travelling alone. Perhaps a little small if two using the room. The double bed was a good size. Sockets are not conveniently located in the room so take a longer charger cable so that your phone can be charged on the bedside unit, of which, there was only one. I noticed straight away that the lighting was too dim for my needs. I have to put every one on to get to a reasonable level but it was still on the "romantic meal out" end of the brightness scale. The shower curtain was badly fitted so didn't cover the bath end, only the side as it had all the rings on one side of the ceiling mounted bar. The hotel location was perfect for the gardens across the street, His Majesty's Theatre (200m away) and Union Street main shops. I got a great deal a few days before travelling which included breakfast. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and covered every food type you'll want from a morning meal before heading out to explore.
