My mother and I had the best stay here. We were so worried about the check-in time, as our train was over an hour and a half late, so we were stressed about the time. I phoned ahead, and Richard was so sweet and let me know not to worry and just to let him know when I had an update on our arrival. My brother picked us up and dropped us off, and as we waited on the porch, it was such a beautiful evening. Richard greeted us at the door and welcomed us in. I was not expecting a warm toast on the first night, and that was so wonderful! My mom and I had a glass of wine while we learned some amazing history about the house, and my brother hung out for a bit with our new baby niece! The home is just stunning- so well maintained and curated with such beautiful artwork, and it just feels so cozy, and you just want to sit and curl up with a good book (which I did!). He showed us to our room. I can't recall the name of the room we stayed in, but it was so beautiful. Each morning we had the grandest breakfast I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I cannot stress how hospitable and warm, and how loving it was to be in the presence of Richard, and the folks who stayed over the weekend were just beautiful. These are the types of gems that make taking time away from home so enjoyable, and I wish everyone had the chance to experience this for themselves. A thousand thanks to Richard and his partner for all they do.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (530 reviews)
This hotel was perfect for what we needed during our stay. We were staying as we had appointments at the Mayo. Shuttle was handy, but also close enough that we could walk as well. There was a lot of construction going on at the hotel and surrounding areas, but never affected our stay. The room was amazing. So nice and clean. Highly recommend staying here.
