![We were at the end of our Panama/Costa Rica trip and had actually just decided to cut it short because I was starting to feel sick. But we had this last hike to try out and I was just hoping both that I would feel well enough and also that our car would be able to make it back on the very steep gravel road back from the parking spot (after almost getting stuck around Monteverde earlier on the trip). As we’ve been getting used to we were first to arrive so we had this awesome place completely to ourselves for a little while in the morning before other tourists started to drop in. It really felt like a fairytale. “Once we arrived at this property we were very excited to stay here. The house itself is quite unique and had a fantastic view of the jungle below. The porch overlooking the jungle was a great place to relax and watch nature. We saw toucans, humming birds, butterflies, and fireflies in the tree tops at night. There were also some giant dragonflies, and we saw an agouti, twice feeding on the jungle floor below. It is about 10 minutes from Dominical. It is also close to Parque Nacional Marino……

“I stayed here for two weeks with my wife and 5 year old. We really loved everything about the property. It was a bit off the beaten path, which means it was quiet and relaxing. We had a rental car, so getting around was easy. The property is in the mountains, but still only 15 minutes from Dominical and 30 minutes to Uvita. The location was perfect for exploring nearby waterfalls and beaches. On our lazy days in, my daughter absolutely loved the pool, which we had to ourselves every time we used……

“We had a wonderful stay at Odyssey Villa in Escaleras. The drive is an adventure, but once you arrive, the house and views are absolutely stunning—photos truly don’t do it justice.
