This photo was taken just inside the Tennessee border. I had been staying at a cabin with my roommate and her family. We arrived at night at a time when I could not see the pond. When I woke up the next morning, we went outside and I was in awe of the beauty. It was bright, vibrant, and perfectly picturesque. The cabin we stayed in was hard to get to; it was on a one way gravel road up the side of a mountain. It is seemingly untouched, yet if I had turned the camera around, the viewer would notice power lines running up the side of the mountain. This picture seems to preserve the idea that Appalachia has not been touched by humans. #appalachianechoes

"This condo was perfect for us. We came to the area to tour Appalachian State and ski Sugar Mtn, and it was located halfway between both. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms were comfortable. The view was very pretty. "

"Our stay was during the middle of the week and we had the lake to ourselves. The cabin is remote with no major roads or traffic noise, but other cabins nearby. It was a perfect relaxing getaway."

"This is such a quirky unique property with cool details around every corner. The onsite bar and restaurant are things you don't find much any more. There are indoor and outdoor fire areas with pretty gas fires. As soon as the weather improves i'll be back to hang out in the outdoor courtyard as well. Glad I found this place."

" We absolutely loved our stay at Chetola Resort in Boone! From the moment we arrived, everything felt so peaceful and welcoming. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with beautiful views of the property. The pools were a highlight — options were clean, well-kept, and never too crowded. It was the perfect place to relax after exploring the area. The grounds of the resort are stunning — walking around the lake and through the gardens was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and everything felt really well organized. It’s such a great location too — close to downtown Boone, Blowing Rock, and all the beautiful mountain activities. We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend Chetola Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway! "

"Everything was good. Clean, comfortable bed, nice selection of soaps, shampoo, lotion, etc. I do miss the days when you had fruity water and warm cookies in the lobby. Coffee was nice but no decaf??"
