The room & facilities were not good at all. The room had not been swept or wiped down (the outside of the microwave was disgusting but thankfully I had some Lysol wipes in my bag), and long hair strands and stained sheets were on one of the beds. I didn't realize until I was about to check out that there was no housekeeping available (per a note posted inside the elevator)-it was the day after the storm Isaias hit the area. So that part was understandable. But it would have been helpful to know that upon check-IN. I only had to use the elevator because the ice machine on the 1st floor was out of order and the other one was on the 3rd floor (thankfully THAT one was working). The other issue I had was that the back entrance door at the end of the hallway seemed to be malfunctioning too. Normally you'd need your room key for access through that door, but it wouldn't even close all of the way. And since I was put in a room on the 1st floor (actually just steps away), this was definitely a security concern. Speaking of security, I'm glad I checked the window because I found it UNLOCKED. Again, this was a 1st floor room, facing the front of the hotel where anyone walking along the sidewalk could have opened the sliding window. The ONLY saving grace to this stay, besides only needing to be there one night, was that the ladies at the front desk (both at check-in and check-out) were friendly and professional. This is NOT the same Microtel my family & I stayed at a few years ago.
