10/10 Exceptional! (1 review)
This is by far the definitive place to stay on the Camino if you want to overnight in Castrojerez. The hotelier, Jairo, was beyond helpful, going above and beyond to make my stay excellent and relaxing. The spa pool is particularly nice and a welcomed feature for tired muscles after a long Camino trek from Burgos. The inner patio is especially comfortable and impressive, and the lounge, with its Netflix enabled high definition screen was awesome. I caught up with an episode of one of my favourite series, in English, after writing a few emails in the patio. This is living at a very high level. Also worth noting is that they have excellent facilities for cyclists especially, with a complete bicycle specific tool set, a compressor, and dedicated bicycle stands in the gorgeous patio. In terms of comfort, the stuffed recliners in the second level, accompanied by the sound of falling water beckons you to relax and unwind, and I even managed to doze off for a reinvigorating afternoon nap. The town is very quiet at night, but this facility, with its thick walls and double insulated glass, ensures absolute tranquility. I can recommend this place very highly, and Jairo is a treasure, a scholar and a gentleman, and knowledgeable about everything going on in town and its amenities. He goes above and beyond. If I could give him especially a rating out of 10, it would be 11. I enjoyed this hotel/spa, and left truly rested and ready to take on the Meseta. Joaquin
