"What a fantastic find for a family holiday. Exceeded expectations in terms of location, accommodation, facilities etc. A great deal of thought has been put in by owners to enhance the comfort of your stay, a lovely home from home. Lovely short walk to a fabulous beach, and not far from Portmadock where there are shops for every need. Would highly recommend, and sure like us you will just want to go back again. "We wish we could have stayed longer! We arrived late at night after our travel plans were delayed and Jan was so kind and accommodating and stayed up late to make sure we checked in. She even upgraded our room and offered us refreshments. The whole building is charming, with tasteful decor. The room itself (and bathroom) felt quite luxurious, were very clean with all amenities as advertised. Our only regret is that we only stayed the one night and couldn’t be there longer. We would absolutely come back."

"A remarkable building, but still very much a work in progress Plas Glynllifon is an extraordinary place to stay. The building is genuinely impressive, full of history and character, and staying there feels very different from a conventional hotel. The welcome was friendly, the room was comfortable and breakfast was good. The setting is also excellent for exploring this part of North Wales. It is important to be realistic, though: this is still very much a hotel in development. Some of the facilities and infrastructure are not yet at the standard you would expect from a fully established hotel. During my stay the Wi-Fi was unreliable, there were no TVs in the rooms, and some parts of the property were clearly still being brought back into use. None of that spoiled my stay, because I knew I was staying somewhere that is being restored and developed rather than at a finished luxury hotel. In some ways it was interesting to see the building at this stage. There is no restaurant or bar at present, although there are places nearby. I particularly enjoyed Ty’n Llan, which is roughly a 20-minute walk away and was excellent for an evening meal. The real attraction here is the building itself and its potential. If the owners continue improving the practical side of the hotel while preserving its character, Plas Glynllifon could become somewhere genuinely special. I would stay again, but I would recommend arriving with the expectation that you are visiting a fascinating historic"
