This view is from Elmina Castle, in Ghana. It was completed in 1486 by the Portuguese. From 1637-1872 it became property of the Dutch. In 1872 it was ceded to Britain. It was also one of the gateways for slaves to board ships to America. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. History can be seen inside these walls. #beach

This was an oasis for 5 nights after a terrible road journey. (Ghana's main roads are currently in a terrible state). We loved everything about the hotel - staff, food, location and a great pool. Thank you!
