"Hilltop Villa was exactly as advertised — wonderful views, beautifully open layout, and excellently staffed. We had a catered dinner for six of us the day we arrived, and the food was first-rate. Same for a later breakfast and lunch. One caution: the walk down to the beach is no more than 15 or 20 minutes, but the walk back uphill can take double the time. The good news: There’s that lovely pool waiting for you when you make it back to the top."

"Our visit was very disappointing. The hotel looked nothing like the pictures that were uploaded. It was old and run down, with no-one having visited for two years. Also, the description of the hotel was incorrect at best, but more accurately deceptive. Only the bedroom has operating air conditioning (which didn’t work our first night!) and it only works during the night. The furniture is old and falling apart. "My partner and I had a wonderful time at this off the grid getaway! The property was gorgeous and well maintained with all the necessities in your bure. Steve and Allison were attentive to all our needs and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The location was remote with the sounds of nature and Fijian life surrounding you. Do not miss out on the blowhole or rainbow reef! Beware the property does require a bumpy drive and wifi is hard to come-by on all of Taveuni. Overall ann amazing stay! "

"Mere and the whole team were super helpful, friendly and made it a very nice place to stay. The food is excellent with views of the sunset and the ocean. Very easy access to the beach where you can snorkel, grab a coffee or some more food. Recommend using their local knowledge to book excursions such as scuba diving or trips around the island. Look forward to returning one day!"

"You won’t regret staying here. Instantaneous gas hot water with plenty of water pressure. Air con. Ceiling fan in main bedroom. Fully functional kitchen with groceries nearby. Jason and Ajay can organise whatever else you need. The location and vista from the large front covered verandah is an excellent place to soak in the Taveuni tropical vibe. "

"What a sparkling gem to find Helen and Peter’s place to end our stay in Fiji. Just perfect for the 2 of us. Its quiet, amazing 180 degree views of the ocean and the islands,beautiful garden with the old gracious mango tree and comfortable bed, and value for money compared to our stays in resorts. Helen arranged for delicious home cooked Fijian meals to be delivered to our door at half of the price of elsewhere You can walk to other cafes and supermarket. Peter bought us home baked bread, coconuts , eggs and milk. Highly recommended would come in a heartbeat. Thankyou so much. "

"Wonderful 9-day stay at Sere Ni Ika. Beautiful 3 bdrm 2 bath home with incredible views, with stairs to the beach. Entire house made of tropical wood. The housekeeper, Loata, took immaculate care of the house and was so kind. We hired her to cook one evening and our meal was delicious. We also hired the property manager, Byron, to take us to a nearby islet for snorkeling, twice. He picked us up right at the beach and the snorkeling was fabulous. There is an outdoor shower on the path to the beach, a full kitchen, an incredible veranda and a lovely yard. Our dishes were cleaned for us and laundry washed and folded. Luxurious bath towels were provided. There is a small market, a fresh fruit stand, and a small eatery within a few hundred feet of the property. Restaurants are within walking distance or a short taxi drive away. We highly recommend, and hope to return! "

"This is a great place to stay with a great family. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, had a wonderful easy time and were very sorry to leave. This isn't a hotel or resort - it's a homestay and we really felt at home. Jale, Nita, Sia and Jima are creative, interesting and generally exceptional people and perfect hosts. They can organise lots of things for you to do, but they don't 'push' anything. It's up to you. The food was REALLY excellent - some of the best food we've eaten, ever, anywhere. My two boys (aged 8 and 10) and I stayed for four nights and would have happily made it forty if we could have. Leaving was a bit of a shock to the system! If you and/or your kids like playing rugby, it's an especially great place. More broadly, Taveuni is a beautiful island - quiet but with things to see and do. Really worth a visit. Give it as much time as you can. Vinaka Vaka Levu - we look forward to coming back which we will certainly do. "
