Please read if you are booking between January through April 1st. 2024 the lake level will be down and no motor boats will be available. Also this house has a good amount of stairs in order to access the lake.

This lovely quaint little cottage is the perfect escape for everything you would need to enjoy the beautiful area of Lake Lure! Upon entry no need to worry about stairs, the cottage is roadside with parking adjacent to the house. This cottage was fully remodeled to provide all the necessities within a small package. There are two queen size built in bunk beds to accommodate four people, each with their own outlets and fans, this lets you feel like summer camp but more luxurious. There is also a pull out couch in the living room for a extra guest or two. The bathroom has a oversized subway tile shower as well as beautiful tiled floor. In the living room you will have the log cabin feel with all the wooded ceiling as well as throughout the sleeping areas as well. There is a large granite top island to prepare your dishes and also to have game nights and rewind from the day. This place is great inside but what really draws the attention is the outdoor areas. Outside the cottage there is a large seating area for grilling and relaxing. On the way down the stairs to the lake halfway down you will arrive at "The Ski Bar" a eclectic decorated bar of antiques, old ski gear, and all kinds of entertainment! The ski bar has a large wood slab bar along with neon lights! This bar will not disappoint with the views either! It has great lake views as well as a beautiful view of pilot mountain. From the bar down you will find another great area to either eat or lounge about from the day listening to the boats pass by or mother nature at its finest. From the deck you will be at Lake Lures water edge. The boathouse is situated back in a peaceful cove where swimming is one of the very best past times. Also, we do provide a canoe and paddle boat for those who would like to see more of the waterside of Lake Lure.

This year we have added a 2019 22ft Bentley Pontoon boat for a extra daily fee, MESSAGE FOR DETAILS. We have added a boat for taking in all that Lake Lure has to offer. You can come and go at your own pace with our pontoon boat and park at our private dock. The boat is strictly for cruising and fishing, the Town of Lake Lure does not permit any water sports (towing) behind Vacation Rental Home boats. The daily boat rental rate is $500 per day and includes gas.

The house does have high speed internet. Please also be advised the house does not sit directly on the water and like most mountain lake homes has steps to get to the water and boathouse. If you have issues going up and down stairs this house is not suitable for you to access the water.

Hidden Gem!!
We had an absolute blast here this weekend!! The property is so beautiful and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The "road" you're on is super quiet, maybe 6 cars total went by all weekend! There are ao many places you can sit and enoy the lake view. Thank you so much Byron and family for creating such a lovely getaway! The pictures dont even do this place justice! They supplied everything we needed for the weekend which was super convenient. We will definitely use Lakedog Properties again in the future!

Great Lake lure trip
We had a wonderful week! Celebrated our 5th Anniversary! We come to the mountains very often but this trip was exceptional. The weather was perfect. The food was great. And this cabin was just right. Had everything we needed. The ski bar was great. Enjoyed a couple of meals down there. So cozy at night with all the colorful lights on. Just perfect!!

We enjoyed our first visit to Lake Lure. The cabin was cozy. Unfortunately I truly didn’t pay attention to the info about the steps. My fault. I think my husband and I will have to stay in a place with fewer steps next visit, as we are getting older now. Byron and Barbara were excellent hosts though and we really appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Cottage with lots of character
Fun small cottage across the street from lake Lure (you do have to cross a quite street to get to the steps to the lake). Along the way down the steps there are landings decorated in a creative bar theme. Pontoon boat (we didn’t rent) takes up the narrow water front. Wonderful area.

Oh boy did it rain.
The hosts were awesome. Actually spoke to the host and met Mom. That goes a long way. As a result heard the story of where we stayed. Great history. But boy did it rain! We hung out and watched tv. Couldnt take advantage of the water amenities but that was really okay.

Cute and Quaint
We booked this stay last minute and Byron was very communicative to ensure our stay met our expectations. The stay itself was very comfortable with eclectic decor that we loved. It fit our little family well and felt quite homey. The listing is accurate in showing the property. They had everything you needed + more, aside from food (obviously). We spoke to his mother several times nearby and she was a very kind woman who gave as recommendations for local places to stop by/visit. She also directed us to lake access nearby since we were not able to rent their boat. We look forward to coming back soon!

Lake lure getaway
The Marsh house was just what we needed! Two large bunk beds, cozy kitchen equipped with all the tools and appliances plus a cute bathroom with a great shower! Best part was that our dogs could stay with us! It rained one of days but the house had Netflix so we just chilled with some movies. The roads to get to the house are pretty narrow and there wasn’t a lot of street lights --just go slow! That’s lake life!

Throughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Lure!
We had a wonderful visit to Byron's adorable cottage on Lake Lure. The property ended up being perfect for my family of 4 and two dogs. The property was better than advertised with a great location and easy access to the lake, two comfy queen bunks, fully stocked kitchen and extras of most everything. If you appreciate unique and funky you will appreciate all of the antiques that decorate the cottage and ski bar. Speaking of the ski bar, this was one of our favorite parts of the stay. We hung out there most every evening after playing in the lake all day. The vintage bar signs, lighting, and cool wood bar make it extra special. Byron and his mom Barbara were great hosts, excellent communicators, and extremely accommodating. Can't wait to book our next stay with them!

This little place was amazing and neat I loved the way it was decorated. I never would have thought a boat shed could be turned into something so cute and home feeling like this one did. Byron was super nice and very helpful. If I had anything negative to say would be that I wish the view was better can't really see the lake that great and you can only see it really good if you are sitting on the back of the boat. But other than that everything was amazing. Would stay agian for a short getaway.

July vacation
We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The house exceeded our expectations. Byron and Barbara were the kindest hosts we have ever had. Their communication with us was immediate and helpful. This little house is quirky and comfy and was stocked with the comforts of home. There are steps that go down to the ski bar, but what house in Lake Lure doesn't? Pretty much no house at the lake. What a lovely and sweet place this is. It provided the much rest and relaxation needed as well as let us get a glimpse into lake life. The boat rental was so much fun and not to mention beautiful. WOW. What a beautiful slice of North Carolina. Many many many thanks and we will be back!

Listed as a cottage but actually a renovated boat shed. Host said he would meet/greet but never showed up. The furniture was old and worn, lifted the cushions just to find dining room chair cushions placed there so you didn’t sink. Listed as “waterfront” you had to walk across a street and traverse 52 stairs to get to the water, not waterfront. There’s a storm drain directly in front of the door that had been disguised with plants in the listing, this was just an open drain when we were there. The described “ski bar” was unusable due to all the dust, Cobb webs and spider webs and hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. The listed deck is a stair landing with a grill and chairs at the top. Had scheduled to rent the pontoon but once again the host never showed up. There was “Lawn/garden” in the listing, don’t know if this was category left un answered or a claim, nevertheless nothing found that resembled that. Listed as “pet friendly” yep you can take your pet but there’s no place to walk/bathroom for them other than a mountain road with no shoulders, host mother laughed and said “there’s acres of woods” You better take your climbing shoes & rope if you do that. Had to endure the host mother constantly making excuses about the host’s personal problems for this ultimate failure. We ended up leaving early…talking to the host(text) he never offered any apologies for the condition of his listing. His listing ended up being creative writing along with a wide camera lens. Misleading to the point of fraudulent. I most definitely won’t be back. Have lodged a complaint with VIRBO, will see where that goes.

Wow! Just Wow! Love this place! Lake Lure and this property go hand in hand. No better way to see the sights and enjoy the vibe then through this home away from home. We were 100% relaxed and rejuvenated once it was time to go home. We will be back!
