"View is incredible. It has a net lounge which is pretty nice. It has a bath tub in the room. Staff is friendly but just slow with check in and check out since there’s only a few people working there. You can kayak in the river. Breakfast and dinner was awesome. You wake up to the sound of the birds chirping."

"The location is awesome. You have a great view of the lake below and the Piedra de Penon towering over you. The small unit had 2 beds, a small dining table, a toaster oven, fridge and a small but complete bathroom. We were just one building over from the sauna, which we did use for about 1/2 hour. "Guatape is a gorgeous little town, and La Madriguera is a peaceful place to stay, with splendid views and warm service. You can easily walk to the center. A tuktuk from the square up the hill is 4000 COP ($1.10). Be sure to book a room with balcony. Beds are firm, sheets so soft. And the attached restaurant is simple but marvelous. Breakfast is included. I had dinner there twice. Staff speak some English, but a little Spanish is helpful. Hope I can return to kayak when there’s more water in...
