Fly Fish the Bad Axe River-Secluded Cabin-140 acres-Vernon Vineyard 1 mile away

Covid19 update: THE PERFECT PLACE FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING! We maintain a clean environment (bleach used wiping all public surfaces) for our guests to ensure your safety while on the premises.
NOTE: As temperatures drop and freezing occurs, the water to the cabin is shut off in cold/winter months(Nov??-April???). We do provide a 5 gallon jug of fresh water in the kitchen and the outhouse is available. No shower at cabin during these months but arrangements can be made to utilize the owner's home, private basement entrance with full bath.
Private cabin on 140 acres. Turkey hunting and trout fishing available. Our rustic cabin is located on a dead end road within walking distance of the Bad Axe River which flows through Duck Egg County Park.
Walk down the road to Vernon Vineyards Winery where you can relax on the patio or the covered deck and sip wine while watching the grapes grow.
Pedretti's Party Barn is on sight with the vineyard so perhaps you know someone getting married and need a place to stay close versus driving to a motel in town; enjoy close proximity to the event!
Faith Farms on the corner offers fresh produce, organic eggs and amish baked goods.
Hot/cold running water to fully stocked kitchen (seasonal-water is off in winter)
Outdoor bath house with shower and flushing toilet
2 queen beds in the cabin loft
futon in living room
fire pit with free wood in shed
weber grill (bring your own charcoal and lighter)
2 night minimum $200-weekend!
Runge Hollow Lake only 2 miles from the cabin for fishing from the dock or in a small boat. Grab a floaty and relax!

Weekend Getaway
This was the perfect getaway for my family. We have 2 dogs who ran like crazy! Our 5 year old loved the outdoor bathroom. The covered porch was perfect to watch the rain, kids run, and amazing view. Family friendly location. The pictures posted dont do justice to how nice this place is! They also took us down to fish! 5 stars!!!

Beautiful and Peaceful
The location, house, and property are absolutely beautiful. We loved the solitude of the property especially our dog. She loved exploring every day. It was amazing seeing so many stars at night because you don't get to see that living in the city. The only thing that was an issue is we brought our motorcycle and it was a little difficult with the soft driveway. We wish the river was a little closer so we could of walked down there to go fishing. The owner offered to bring us down there but unfortunately we had storms the night before and our dog doesn't do well with them so we were up most the night. Overall we love this area so much and we need to come more often.

Private, Secluded, and Amazing
We had an absolute blast at the Brye Cabin for a week. Cannot really think of much bad to say. Could have easily gone the entire trip without seeing another non-family member if we wanted to! Dogs are currently in a deep, post-cabin depression from being totally free for the whole trip. None of us really wanted to leave and were asking to come back two days before we left. I feel like we explored a lot, but didn't even tap much into everything. Good trails to walk on as well. Somehow we (two adults, three kids, and two dogs) never had a single tick in the third week of June. Saw MAYBE five mosquitoes (unconfirmed sightings) and the gnats were basically kept at bay with one morning application of Dettol. My wife and I were just talking about how we basically didn't need to bring anything because the cabin had it all! I cannot imagine we won't be back.

Stress reliever
This is an amazing off the beaten path cabin. It may be titled as rustic but in no way feels lacking . The home amenities are perfect for a simple get away but address any needs you may have. Kitchen is well equipped and modern, loft bedroom offers lots of room and very comfortable, and the farm field viewing is second to none. We were greeted by songbirds in the morning, wild turkeys walking the adjacent fields, hummingbirds feeding on the front porch, deer on the wood line and a bobcat making an appearance, truly remarkable. Do not let the outdoor restroom dissuade you, this rental has so much to offer and enjoy. If you GPS to this location do not take the Baker Ln prompt, continue to the next driveway on your left, otherwise you will end up at the a neighboring farm. The property owners were outstanding and were available to answer questions and even offered assistance with a vehicle issue we encountered. We are already looking into booking another, longer stay at this cabin. And if you travel with pets there is no better location.

A true get away
A very clean and roomy cabin. It's located off the beaten path which I enjoyed. The toilet and shower are open air, which added to the secluded vibe.
