We had a lovely night stay here. You’re on an island so some ants and bugs can be expected. This isn’t The Four Seasons so if you were looking for that you would be disappointed. What you will find staff willing to go above and beyond like Jonathan, who made our stay lovely. Love that you could just walk to the beach right behind the property. The peace and tranquillity you will find here is unmatched. I think this is the best place to stay on the island. We will definitely be returning.

Giant tortoises are the longest-lived of all vertebrates, averaging over 100 years. The oldest on record lived to be 152.

There are now only 11 types of giant tortoises left in the Galápagos, down from 15 when Darwin arrived. Hunted as food by pirates, whalers, and merchantmen during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, more than 100,000 tortoises are estimated to have been killed off.

You can spend time exploring the galleries in Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora. Wander the waterfront and beaches in the area.

You have to walk about 2.5km to get to Tortuga Beach, but it is completely worth it. Very few people on the beach, but lots of iguanas everywhere. :) Strong currents, please follow the flags on the beach.
