Three Horses Ranch offers the perfect escape in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Located in Johnson City, this artsy gem is only thirty minutes from Fredericksburg and just minutes from several wonderful wineries. A plethora of activities and stunning scenery await you at the famous Pedernales Fall State Park just a short fifteen minute drive away.
At the ranch the serenity of your surroundings are sure to melt away your troubles. Take in the beauty of a starry night sky as you unwind in your private swimming pool or lounge on the large deck right outside your back door as you watch the deer grazing nearby. A hammock provides a relaxing spot for a nap in the breeze, and on those chilly winter nights gather around the outdoor fire pit with hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows. There is a very friendly dog and a cat at this property.

This delightful retreat has an open floor plan with an inviting living room, kitchen and dining area. The master suite offers a queen bed and a cheery private bath. In the living area the queen sofa sleeper allows for two additional guests who will enjoy the comfort and convenience of their own full bathroom.

Peace and Quiet does exist !

The rental is spacious and has some artful decor. Our favorite part was the pool! Loved hanging out in the partially shaded, secluded pool and deck with a view of the ranch, birds and deer. We had a wonderful few days!!

Private Hill Country Home Away from Home!

We had a wonderful time at 3 Horse Ranch! The location was fantastic! Close enough to town for anything you need, but far enough away for some peace and quiet. It was exactly as listed. The owner took great care and consideration of everyone’s needs and it was so clean! The cleanest VRBO we have stayed at so far. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the animals were also a delight. We highly recommend and would stay here again.

Enjoyed every minute of it. Nice and tranquil. Only issue was that the listing said two bedroom, but there was only one bedroom with a bead in the living area. Worked fine for our needs, but could be misleading if someone really needed two separate bedrooms (apart from the living space. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and it is a lovely place in c the country!

2nd Time Still A Charm!!

This was our 2nd time to stay at 3 Horse Ranch. A week of relaxation and spent all the time outdoors by the pool. Peace and tranquillity of enjoying our stay. Loved it just like our first time. The house was clean and came with all the amenities. The stars gazing was amazing every night! I recommend a stay and will be doing it again soon. I can’t say enough about this place, you will have to experience for yourself.

Valentine’s Day - Gateway

Property was just as described, it had everything you would need from pot and pants to extra towels and sheets of all sizes. The outdoor area was great it was too cold to get in the pool but the hot tub was great!!The only negative thing I can say was that I expected to meet the owner or at least the person that was in charge of taking care of the property. Just to get information about the area or tell us about the property and animals.But overall I would definitely book again!

Convenient location

My wife and I enjoyed staying at this house. It was very conveniently located for our business in the area. Although the owners lived next door, we never saw or heard them. We saw their dogs and one of the dogs was mean to the other dog when we stopped to pet them through the fence! Hopefully, they learn to get along a little better. We appreciated the pool being there because it was so hot. I had a nice nap in the hammock.

CHILL WEEKEND!!!

Very chill weekend and this was the perfect place. Very private, quiet and a short distance to Johnson City. We loved being out in the middle of no where. The dogs onsite were soooo sweet, didn't see them much. We were gone during the day, my husband LOVED the pool in the evenings. Sitting out on the deck was so relaxing. We were a little disappointed the hot tub didn't work. That was one of the reasons we chose this place, but it wasn't a deal breaker. We enjoyed our stay.

Great place to escape city life

We really enjoyed our stay at Three Horses Ranch. The place is very close to town but far enough to escape city lights and enjoy some star gazing. Our kids loved the pool. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Hot water was instant. AC was strong. Really no complaint. We met some friendly dogs and horses on property too. Bring some bug spray if you want to enjoy your time outdoor in the morning and evening. There were quite a bit of flies and gnats. But they are pretty much everywhere these days. If you are looking for a good family getaway in Johnson City, this is the spot.

Relaxing getaway

This property is remote while being close to lots to do.The property was clean and well maintained. The king bed was so comfy.The pool and deck were my favorite place when we came in from Fredericksburg, Wimberly and San Marcos. We needed a quiet get away and it was perfect for us, but with the extra beds and 2 full bathrooms it would be great for a family with kids too. We would highly recommend this amazing property

My 10yo son, our pup, and I had such a wonderful time here! Such a charming ranch home to spend a relaxing time in. The kitchen is equipped with everything you’d need - the best I’ve ever encountered during vacation rental stays. There is a crate, bed, toys, water and food bowls for dogs. The pool, hot tub, hammock, swing, and rocking chairs are all well maintained and such fantastic perks to staying here. We are also grateful for the ranch kitty overlords and appreciate that they let us pet them. We will definitely be back!

The property is perfect with the refreshing pool, deck for sipping coffee, friendly horses nearby, and the surrounding natural views of Texas Hill country. The place is quiet and peaceful and yet only 7 minutes to Johnson City. The owner, Tami, is very friendly and has stocked the house better than most VRBOs with plenty of coffee, paper products, kitchen/bathroom/laundry supplies, towels, pool toys, etc. We essentially didn’t need a thing and loved our week long trip.
