The staff wasnt very friendly or helpful. The beds were so hard most of us slept on the floor because it was more comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre and the hard boiled eggs were undercooked our first am (i noticed on her second egg that they still were gelly, slimey, gooey white) which made my daughter sick for her game. Soap dispenser was empty and the plug to one of our rooms didnt work. We dont do hotels often but have never been let down more. Should have gone to our best western.

The Shire is in a wonderful location and I would recommend for a short stay. They are in the midst of a renovation and the rooms and exterior are nice and well kept. My only issue was that the coffee bars were not well stocked all the time with the same variety and the ice machine was not well stocked as it ran out of water to produce ice during our 2 night stay. Otherwise, the place and location is wonderful.

We loved our visit here. John and Yvonne were wonderful. The space was clean, quiet, and truly magical. The views were second to none and the castle and other buildings are truly worth experiencing. We loved learning about the history of this place and we will certainly be back.
