Private Yosemite Scenic by Way-Bass Lake View 5 acre-Up to10-Occupants

Five-acre Lot Great views of back country sierras of Yosemite. Near Badger Pass and China Peak ski areas. Behind Mammoth and Bass Lake, and North Fork. House now painted pretty sage green 2021. See photo.

Twenty-four-hundred square foot, three-bedroom, two bathroom, home, with upgraded granite counters, stainless steel stove, very pretty kitchen for the ultimate cooking in a cabin experience. Property is at 2800 elevation. Hardwood maple floors , modest, nice, furnishings. A mountain home that you can also relax in. Jacuzzi bath tub and marble and travertine complete your bathing experience. Well laid out kitchen, stocked with all cooking utensils, and dishes and basic spices for at home comforts.

You will appreciate the privacy and view of mountains from the kitchen, den and living rooms interconnecting to one another. Sink into relaxation sitting time on the wraparound deck and full star-gazing at night and mountain views in the daytime.
Once Vacationers come to the Yosemite Scenic Loop they are amazed at all there is available. The rivers across our way, lakes, boating, swimming beaches even at the lake, with Angel Falls that slide right into the lake for family fun and inner tubing. We have access to amenities 1/2 mile to gas, grocery, Bass Lake ranger station, shops and restaurants, video store. You can fish and swim nearby as well as access full Yosemite park up 274 exit out our entrance.
Visit the Indian Mono Museum by our house and take a tour of the 40 mile loop trail of lakes, such as Redinger, Mammoth
Pools and back country best camping with no crowds! Even in summer we have back country access to Meadows, rivers, mountains and easy access to elevations from 3000 to 7000 to be cool in summer or get to snow in winter. Don't miss the a pretty house instead of a common dusty cabin that is locked in with no views, we have a good feeling location on the hill looking out and no one looking in.
Upgraded Home, Granite, Jacuzzi tub, Gourmet kitchen.
Let me know if you have any questions. Like maybe the bed layout so all ten of you can sleep.
Master Manzanita Room, king bed and Slate Shower bathroom attached, walk in closet
Second bedroom, Sierra Room, one queen , walk in closet
Third Bedroom, Mtn View room, two twins
Den Conversion. Office Desk , two twin bunk beds
Living room, couch , loveseat, chair and a Queen bed mattress by the vaulted window to take naps, lay around and watch tv by the fire, play board games, toss your stuff down after hikes or sleep at night.
Plus a twin day bed next to wood stove by hall entrance for an extra bunker.
Hallway bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, two vanity sinks, commode etc.
House is a 3 bed den plus 2 bath.
Upgraded granite counter kitchen with upgrade stove
Outdoor small bbq, no outdoor fires in Yosemite due to laws and droughts.
Front full deck for star gazing or hanging outside and looking at the mountains.
1/10 mi road to house from well maintained road 1/10 mile from turn off to bass lake and yosemite, (we are the scenic route, yosemite scenic by way, one mile to bass lake ranger station, north fork grocery store, a few eateries , and stores. gas station ) of which which there are none inside the park so folks stay in small towns often for good roads and local things to do.
WE have three local year round waterfalls in 7 to 10 miles of the house . Cascadel Falls, Angel falls at Bass Lake, and Whiskey Creek falls.
We are 26 minutes to the south entrance according to driving notes in my review from a tenant as well as our experience driving into south entrance which is the entrance that has the giant grizzly Sequoia. The yosemite train is also outside the park on the way in from our house on highway 41, before the south entrance.
Behind the house is a school yard, which you cannot see but can hike to the top of in 5 minutes and cross over, for a football field, baseball field. tennis court, playground etc and occasional adult yoga class by a previous neighbor gym teacher of mine. WE have yoga one mile in town as well in case you want a local activity as well as the Mono Indian museum is catty corner behind us in 1/10 mile.
For more questions about our area, check yosemite scenic by way on the internet.
Look forward to hosting you.

Great for our family vacation!
The property was as described and fully stocked with everything my small family needed for our stay. Communication with property owners was easy and helpful. We were able to cook most our meals at home and watch many movies just as we had planned. Everyone was very comfortable throughout our stay. We enjoyed the easy access to snow play, stores and restaurants.

Awesome getaway in North Fork
Enjoyed a wonderful time in this lovely home for a week. Now wishing we stayed just a couple more days! Huge house on a large lot, surrounded by manzanita trees and had all the amenities we needed. Great location and close to several points of interest to check out. Creek/community center across the street is awesome and kids had a blast. Lisa (owner) was very helpful and shared insight with local spots and contacts. Property is well kept and a great, base retreat close to southern entrance to Yosemite about 30mins drive. Thanks for an incredible time!

nearby river
The property itself is kind of awkwardly laid out for 2 families with 4 teenage boys (since two ended up sleeping in the living room/dining area) but we had a fabulous time. We went up to the school at night to watch stars and went to a nearby river during the day. The river was at sort of a park that was technically closed due to covid but it had an awesome swimming hole with a rope swing.

Great location - house needs work
This home a good central location for all that this area has to offer. The house itself needs TLC. To note - the master bathroom has a shower, the hallway bathroom is just the jacuzzi tub, and there is no 'half bath'. Tidy home, but not very clean. Broken chairs in the front lawn, a broken grill and bicycle in the back. Owner is very nice and attentive, but this property needs some attention.

Quiet and private slice of heaven.
Great experience overall with this property. Owner is very tentative and communicated everything both to entice her home as a choice and to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. The property itself is very special. Its secluded, quiet, rustic, and feels like home. The upgrades to the home bring the best of the modern world blended in with the cozy feeling of a true mountain cabin. A terrible storm hit the area leaving all of North Fork and Bass Lake without power. Having a fireplace was a life saver. The day with no power using candles and the fireplace actually was the best part of the trip. The family was definitely off the grid enjoying time together undistracted from anything else. Was a special time..being able to bring my dog was a bonus. Entry and exit was very easy and everything promised was as promised... I highly recommend this home for a private getaway with plenty of room for 10+ and your dog..5 minutes to Bass Lake. 5 minutes to a local store. Great cell phone coverage. Excellent wi-fi and clean comfortable bedding. Property owner has other homes for rent including a Hawaiian masterpiece I cant wait to take my family to. Thank you Liza !!

This was a family holiday celebration; ten folks across three generations and a pup. Most of what this visit was about was group cooking in the kitchen, places for games, and just general catching up and this house is perfect for that. Everyone had great sleep accommodations, and with this big a family folks could find their space when they needed it. Setting was idyllic, even tho a rather serious storm had blown in.

disappointing
The house was listed on the VRBO website for a specific amount per night. The homeowner sent an invoice for this price, plus an “additional guest” charge. We immediately emailed the homeowner to say we felt this was not a fair additional charge and she did not respond. After our stay the homeowner refused to refund the “additional guest” charge – RENTER BEWARE – make sure you check your invoice carefully before committing to this property. The house is advertised to accommodate 10 people – two beds are in the living and dining room. One of the rooms (off the kitchen) does not have doors but has curtains over the doorways. Our party of five adults and one child arrived at the house mid-afternoon. The driveway to the house is long, gravel, and extremely poorly graded. The ruts are significant so be careful driving. There is a gate before you can get into the house. The code for the gate was not as stated on the VRBO app, neither was the house code so make sure you get the correct codes in advance. We had to enlist the neighbor’s assistance because the phone numbers for the homeowner on the VRBO app were wrong – one went to a voice mail that was not set up, the other was a number no longer in service. The neighbor was able to get ahold of the caretaker who gave us the correct codes. The house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small dining area, and a kitchen which worked well for us. It is well supplied with dishes – although the frying pans were in rough shape. The kitchen was overrun with ants coming through the closed window above the sink when we were there. The first bathroom had two sinks, but only one had water which was cold. It also has a large tub with a hand sprayer – only one shower in the house. Towels were plentiful. The other bathroom equipped with a shower worked well. Beds were comfortable. Outdoor decks were available, but because of heat and smoke from nearby fires, not very useable. The exterior of the house is parched – the lawn is brown, dead grass/weeds. The view of the mountains from the living room was lovely. We would not rent from this homeowner again – did not feel her pricing was upfront.

Peaceful Private Retreat!
This house provides the perfect environment to relax. Extremely quiet and secluded, it is the ideal place to get away from the city and completely unwind. The kitchen is fully equipped and it is fantastic for those who love to cook. The view of the stars at night from the porch are amazing!!!! Would love to visit again someday.

Perfect Short Vacation for Our Family
We enjoyed the house, the views, the property, and visiting Yosemite! The caretakers and Liza were very responsive and helpful! Perfect time to visit without the crowd. The house needed minor improvements on cleaning in the bathrooms and I would recommend adding a fitted sheet to the master room mattress as the sheet kept slipping off. We would love to visit again and stay here to see more of the area, hike, and fish.

Stargazing House
Beautiful mtn home. Young modern decor. Great porch for star gazing. A few suggestions : more lights needed in living and dining rooms. Too dark to read or do needlework. Unappreciative $ signage for broken or mismanaged items. Almost terrible results for communication when we couldn't access the driveway and house locks! Nobody said locks would be changed after we printed out the instructions from home months ago. Thank God we found a neighbor home. Overall great stay.

Lovely!
Fabulous, beautiful and comfy home! Owners were very easy to work with and they were always very responsive and helpful! The interior and exterior spaces were large enough for all 10 of my family members. Could have used 1 more shower in the house, but other than that it worked very well for us. The only other advise I have is plan on lots of drive time. We found that we spent lots of time in the car on the way to destinations. Bass lake however wa very close and was one of the coolest days we had! Thank you!

I wouldn't stay there again
Upon arrival, we were met by the caretaker, who reminded us of the rules set forth in the rental contract. You pay for electricity during your stay (never experienced that one before), and if you don't take your trash to the dump, you have to pay a fee! Also, he told us because the maids already work so hard, we were told to strip the linens off all the beds before leaving. Finally, the satellite wasn't working, so no TV. We were told they had been waiting for a while for the repair guy to come out, but we felt like they hadn't tried to schedule it. The impression we had was that no one had been there in some time and the owner doesn't want to put money into the place for upkeep. Okay, whatever, we'd roll with it because we're on vacation. We also felt we had no choice but to agree to everything since the owner had our security deposit. We took a picture of the meter right away and another when we checked out, just in case. The house was just okay. One of the "bedrooms" doesn't have a door, it only has a curtain for privacy, which is completely sheer when the light is on in there, and it's directly off the living room. In another room, the bed frame is held together with zip ties, so my 6'3" son was worried about breaking it (we took pictures when we got there, just in case). The master bed was extremely uncomfortable. I sneezed more than I've ever sneezed in my life--it was as if the house hadn't been aired out in a while or they frequently rent to people with pets. More than a week after we checked out, we got an email saying that our security deposit was on its way back, less the cost of electricity. Sure enough, their calculation of electricity didn't match ours. We took a picture of the meter and turned off the air conditioner and all the lights when we left, so we know our calculation is correct. (Perhaps the house cleaning people turn the air back on when they cleaned--the cleaning for which we already paid.) I sent the owner the pictures and an email explaining the discrepancy. She hasn't responded. We booked this house at the last minute because it was advertised as elegant and secluded. It is secluded. It is miles from elegant.

Secluded and private. Close to Bass Lake and nice drive toYosemite
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. There was plenty of sleep space for our group of 6 and our Yorkie. It's a great location that isn't too far from Bass Lake where we rented a boat for the day and about a 1.5 hr drive to Yosemite Valley. The swimming hole across the street was a great place to go for a dip and cool off. I loved sitting out on the porch in the morning with my coffee as the sun was coming us and again enjoying the serenity in the evening. Some of the information that was given to is prior to check in was incorrect but we managed just fine. Steve, the caretaker, luckily met us at just the right time being that our cellular service was extremely limited. We did attempt to call him during our stay and we're disappointed that he never returned our call. For those of you, who use hairdryers, be sure to bring one from home as there isn't any at the house - my fault for not bringing mine. We also brought movies to watch in the evenings but never found the DVD player nor could we get the cable to work on the TV - no biggie cuz we brought books and board games to entertain us in the evenings. Don't forget bug spray as the mosquitos are out in the evening. Over all, nice place and we really enjoyed our stay and vacation!

AMAZING weekend getaway - Beautiful house and Breath-taking views!!!
After just moving to CA from NYC, Liza's Bass Lake house was the perfect weekend getaway from the big city. The check-in/check-out process was seamless. Liza and her house manager Steve were friendly, attentive, professional and informative during the process leading up to our arrival and were accessible via phone/text throughout our stay if we needed anything. They were even kind enough to push back our check-out time to help accommodate us after a travel delay caused us to arrive a lot later than we planned. The house was clean, well-equipped with everything we needed, safe (alarm system was a huge plus), and in a perfect location! The property was quiet and scenic and a short drive to the beautiful Bass Lake! We had breakfast on the beautiful porch overlooking the breath-taking mountains; hiked on the gorgeous Bass Lake trails along side incredible waterfalls; cooked in the amazing, new kitchen and just had an all-around perfect weekend. We could not have asked for a better weekend and hope to come back to visit! Thank you Liza for everything!!!

Family Weekend Getaway!!
My family stayed at Yosemite Elegant - Bass Lake Area Home for two nights last weekend. The caretakers were wonderful, they took the time to welcome us and answer all our questions upon arrival. He also tried to help us when we lost WIFI and called him the next day. The home was clean and very spacious yet cozy. Cleanliness is my number one priority when looking for a place to stay because I have young children. Beds are placed very strategically throughout the home to accommodate a large group. The kids had lots of fun choosing where to sleep. Amenities throughout the house are adequate. All you need to bring is food/groceries if cooking there. The home is not too far from Oakhurst if you need groceries, gas etc. We were hoping to explore the surrounding areas and play ground behind the home on foot but it was raining. All in all, we had a great time and will most definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
