Midtown Ocean City is the central neighborhood of one of Maryland’s most-loved seaside vacation resorts. Delight in attractions that range from a sweeping beach and surfing, to fairground rides, karting and ice skating. Make your visit to Midtown Ocean City a long one by staying overnight at seafront hotels and motels and be a short walk from the varied dining options.

On sunny summer days crowds flock to the soft clean sands of Ocean City Beach. Have fun with the kids building sandcastles and flying kites. Lifeguards patrol the beach in summertime and put up flags to mark the safe swimming areas. Try your hand at bodyboarding, parasailing, surfing and standup paddle boarding ask about the designated surfing areas.

Fishing enthusiasts can join boat charters and cast a line in the hope of catching marlin, tuna and wahoo. Alternatively, rent a pontoon boat from the marinas and cruise around the Isle of Wight Bay. Canoes, kayaks and wave runners are also great ways to explore the bay at your own pace.

Out of the water, Jolly Roger Amusement Park has excitement-filled activities for all ages. Spend a day hopping between the pay-as-you-go attractions of the park’s themed areas. Find traditional fairground rides at Jolly Roger at 30th Street and pools and waterslides at Splashworld. Race around karting tracks at Speedworld and challenge the holes at Jolly Roger Mini Golf.

For something different, go ice skating and watch live skating shows at the Carousel Ice Skating Rink. Browse works by artists from Maryland and take painting and pottery classes at the Art League of Ocean City. When hunger strikes, refuel at the burger bars, donut shops, pizzerias and seafood restaurants on the Coastal Highway.

Also located in the area is the Roland E. Powell Convention Center. Check out its online calendar to see what’s on during your vacation at Ocean City. Events may include craft fairs, exhibitions and a variety of festivals.

Midtown Ocean City stretches between 28th and 119th streets. Free parking is available at most accommodations, restaurants and strip malls. If you are visiting without a car then travel on the Coastal Highway Beach Bus.
