"Probably the nicest villa we've stayed at in many years of coming to Italy; beautifully situated right on Como with a swimming dock that private boat rentals can also come to directly. There is easy access to town walking along a protected pedestrian pathway separated from the road. The house itself is well appointed -- the bedrooms are all very comfortable with good AC and plenty of storage; the fridge is large and gas range was great for cooking the nights we stayed in. "We stayed in Sala Comicina 4 relatives in their 70’s and 80’s and our kids. Matteo provided excellent directions to the property along with videos describing the how to get there and enter. The indoor parking was large enough to accommodate our 9 passenger van (though negotiating the tight turn from the road to the driveway required some back and forth). "This is a great location in the central lake area. Close enough to to more touristy areas, but more like a local neighborhood. Near to the Lenno boat which has regular service in central lake area. We had 9 adults, 3 couples and 3 singles, and more than enough room for everyone (singles had their own room) Four floors, with parking and sauna room at street level (basement) with an elevator. Lovely hotel right on the lake
"It looked good on the photos before we booked, but, when we arrived it was even better! We booked the day before after changing our plans so couldnt gat a lake view room, but our "side lake view" didnt disappoint. The staff were great, the food was first class and the view from the restaurant and terrace was exceptional. Argegno is small but there are maybe a dozen bars/cafes/restaurants within 2 minutes walk of the hotel. The ferry service and the bus to Como made the choice of location perfect. "
