"Our apartment was very modern but the property still has a very historic and, especially, authentic country feel. Very much appreciated the wood stove at that time of year. Only critique was lack of any American TV. While we don't particularly travel to Portugal to watch TV, when we stay in country places at this time year we don't relish driving after dark. Next time we'll know to have our tablet ready for movies."

The property was beautiful and conveniently located. The whole staff treated us like family specially Agnes. She was amazing. She was so helpful and even booked our dinner reservations one night. "Awesome place with in a quiet, rural place.Beautiful sunset view, delicious food, great breakfast, nice room, and kind staff are just few of its highlights. Highly recommended if you want to have a real and peaceful rest close to the Douro area. "

"The hotel facilities seem quite nice, just lack of service staff. However the room we were assigned on the 1st floor does not have Wifi. The young fellow was kind enough to change us to a room on the 3rd floor, which was ok for us although it lacks certain amenities. The worst thing happened was upon the check out. We made the reservation on Orbitz and prepaid the total amount on June 9th (~a month prior). When we check out, the reception lady asks us to pay again. We showed her Orbitz confirmation email and our credit card statement showing the charge but she insists that room was not paid. She doesn’t speak or understand any English and didn’t understand email in English either. Unfortunately no any other staff was around to help. We wasted at least half an hour and were behind our schedule. We travel 4 months each year and this is the first time that we encountered such a nightmare. Either Orbitz messed up or the hotel’s system did. Anyway, I hope this will never happen again! "
