Staff was dismissive and rude.
No WiFi no outlet for phone charger- told this is the UK.
TV was not working. The mattress was old. The worst mattress that I ever slept on.
Decent breakfast.
I would not recommend staying here.
From the beginning, the staff were absolutely wonderful. What a lovely, historic hotel to stay at while in Perth. The in house cafe was very nice and I would definitely stay here again.
Ideal location staff very polite helpful and informative room excellent well kept buffet breakfast well presented and lovely couldn't fault my stay would definitely use again
Last minute stay, dog friendly plus parking. Dog friendly 5 star. Parking 2 star. It is either on the road or down a steep and narrow drive into parking places. Trust me, you font wsnt a 3ltr 4x4 and a trailer lol
Super schönes, riesiges, sehr sauberes Zimmer. Sehr nettes Personal. Die Betten könnten bequemer sein, aber sonst ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt, wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
Property is almost 300 years old and although mostly quaint and charming, in certain parts there is definite need for investment none more so than the property has no lifts to upper floors! For those guests with a mobility issue, like myself, rhis qas a major issue that would prevent me from returning. Also we ate in the hotel on one evening, rhe food very average and nit value for money. The breakfasts also were quite indifferent.
Staff was great, as was the service. Only negative issue was the bed. Mattress much in need of replacement. But for that would have gotten 5 rating across the board.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Warm welcome. Room was clean, but no way was it a double. No space to put personal toiletries in the bathroom - a shelf would have been handy. Would have liked a "welcome folder" of info, i.e. menus, meal timings, internet passwords, contacts in case of emergencies. Some of this was provided at check in but it was all by rote and too quick to take in. I wish I had asked for a low room on a low floor because those stairs were a challenge - my calves and thighs are still aching - my fault not the hotels. Breakfast was a buffet set up which is never the best. I'm so sorry if this all comes across as negative because we had a nice stay and these are just some observations which in the grand scheme of things are pretty minor. Don't let this stop you booking at this wonderfully old and quirky hotel.
An older hotel right on the river. It was a good place to stay for a quiet evening but some of the amenities felt dated.

Quick stopover on Perth.
Rooms are fine but no A/C. Also no lift. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking difficult if their small car park is full. However, great location and lovely outlook onto the river.
Lovely old style hotel. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a bigger/better room on our arrival, which made our experience even better. Staff were really friendly and hard working. Only a couple of minor flaws stopped me rating the hotel 5 stars :-
WiFi - was good in the reception/lounge area , but was poor/non-existent in the bedrooms (or at least in the room we were in.
Breakfast - cereal, tea /coffee , fruit etc were good , but I was a little disappointed in the buffet style cooked items - black pudding was dry , haggis was a bit pale and fatty, sausages weren't great, and potato scones were bland. ( I'm usually quite the fan of a cooked breakfast) . Bacon, mushrooms, beans, eggs (scrambled/fried) were nice however

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This property is tired, the mattress was shaped like a W. Location was good, easy walk to everything. Thankfully we only had one night here, the bed was terrible.
Beautiful older hotel, excellent service and very good food.

Liked: Staff & service
I stayed in the hotel for a business meeting the next day. I wanted to be fresh and ready, so decided to pay the £120 for a room for the night.
Unfortunately, the mattress I had made it almost impossible to get comforatble and sleep, meaning I almost spent the whole night awake.
Poor show.
We had a lovely stay and found the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very comfortable, although it was very warm and could have done with a fan. When we checked out, I mentioned this and was informed that we could have asked for a fan from reception. There were quite a few stairs and no lift so this was challenging as I have mobility issues but a member of staff helped us with our cases,so that was a help.
