Hotel was great, big room with a full kitchen. Location is right where you want to be, super easy to walk anywhere in old port. The elevator made this cool little James Bond -beep- noise when I touched the hotel key to the reader.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved our one bedroom King loft. While we didn’t need the kitchenware it was fully stocked and very nice to have it. The staff, especially Jennifer was very helpful. We loved the location and were able to walk to everything in old port. The rooms were comfortable and quiet and nicely decorated. The parking in the back was very convenient and we were happy to have a space to easily get in and out when we wanted to enjoy areas outside of old port.

With one exception, parking which at $60 per day which ought to be disclosed at the time of booking since it’s extremely expensive, everything was just perfect! Super clean, good location, quiet, well-equipped kitchen and very helpful staff.

We had two amazing stays at Docent 178 and Docent 121. Beautiful apartments situated in the heart of Old Port, Portland. You are in walking distance to some of the best food found in Maine. The staff were also incredibly helpful and one text message away. Maine in the summer is expensive, but if you are going to spend on hotels anyway, might as well do it with Docent!

Unexpectedly found The Docent's Collection on my trip wanting to spend an extra night. I was generously accommodated before my 4 pm check in time as I was already in the area. It is a beautiful loft style apartment/room that is spacious and very clean. Also within walking distance of a lot of the places I wanted to visit. I loved it so much and I would definitely be back soon.

We have stayed in this Docents Collections building in the recent past and this room did not live up to our expectations. I thought I had booked a two-bedroom with two bathrooms. Perhaps because I inadvertently got onto Expedia's site and also due to booking fairly last minute, we ended up with a corner room with one bath not attached to either of the two bedrooms, and windows that faced a close by brick wall and parking garage. We encourage Docents Collection to invest in a few more amenities for this unit, including waste bins in the bedrooms and more than one pillow and throw in the sitting area. The location is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
