The guest house is one of the most charming and accommodating places I have ever stayed in. The proprietor is a historian who is warm and personalizes the experience for each guest with humble grace. She has taken a late 1800's manor house and refurbished it to it's original elegance. Upon arrival, you get a tour of the house and if interested, a verbal tour of the history of the estate, the town, and the territory as it became a state. She reviews how the local businesses provided a major contribution in the development of the United States. Being a history buff myself, this was particularly intriguing to have my own , in-house, historian. She has created great accommodations with special attention to all of the details a weary traveler may have forgotten. The beds are very comfortable with silk pillowcases. There are extra throw blankets to keep one warm on an afternoon nap. Perhaps the coup de gras is her home cooked and lovingly prepared hearty, healthy breakfasts, each morning you arise. The overall property was top notch, the staff at check in was excellent, the room was very nice. After I checked in I went to use the bathroom in our room before we went out to eat, I lifted the toilet seat and almost gaged. Urine had fermented in the toilet and made the bathroom smell so terrible that we didn't use the bathroom for a few hours. My daughter requested a hotel with a hot tub for her birthday, she just wanted to relax, so I looked for the best rated hotel with a hot tub. Unfortunately when we got to the pool room the hot tub was greenish brown and you couldn't see to the bottom of the hot tub. It was quite the let down being that is all she requested is to sit in a hot tub and relax.

So much too do for EVERYONE:) Loved all the fun options for every age. We had a 5, 14 and 17 year old, (and 40 year old mom and dad, lol). We ALL found fun things to do. Even the 17 yr old who initially was reluctant, was asking to do more by the end lol! Stayed in one room and was very comfortable! If this place included breakfast it would be Perfect Score 10/10. Even with out would highly recommend.

Cable TV down for the duration. Internet would not connect despite repeated calls to the main desk (I was even told to call the provider myself) Didn’t matter, couldn’t connect on numerous devices. Expedia listed the room I reserved as having a “deep soaking tub” Manager claimed they have no such thing, just Expedia’s way of listing.

Very basic self serve breakfast.
