“Week away at this superb lodge. Excellent views and fantastic getaway location. Not too far from lovely scenic walks but far enough to feel away from it all Lodge had everything we needed and more. It was just a shame we didn't get chance to make use of the barbecue Bassenthwaite Lake Station a must do, the breakfast on the static train carriage is amazing. Buttermere lake very special place”

“We had a great holiday. We stay for 4 nights ( 4 adults and 2 children (10 and 6)). The lodge is very cosy and it is very spacious. My son was very happy watching the ducks swimming in the pond. Children watched rabbits running around outside the lodge. Our grandparents flew over from Lithuania and they were left awestruck. Highly recommended Many Thanks😊”

“Absolutely loved our 3 night stay during May half term with our two daughters aged 8 and 11. The cottage is small as expected, but very charming and well equipped. We loved the seclusion and amazing views of the mountains and Ullswater. The girls loved watching the red squirrels and walking amongst the sheep. During our stay we did a 5 mile round trip walk to the Aira Force waterfall, which was easy going and well worth avoiding the busy car park there. We also drove 30 mins to Ambleside and……

“We regularly stay in holiday properties; most are adequate to good and they vary quite a lot in terms of being well equipped and the quality and taste of decor and furnishings. Eileen & Richard’s house is unquestionably one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed at. The entire house is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, the kitchen has everything you could need and more; bedrooms comfortable and there are many small, but well considered little touches throughout the house that make it feel so……

“Didn't actually manage to stay here and had to book alternative accommodation at short notice. Despite checking in online earlier that morning and advising of expected arrival time, I didn't receive the code for the lock box and all attempts at contacting the host failed, no response to phone calls or text messages, in fact the host declined my calls on numerous occasions. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED that this host left a solo female traveler stood outside in the rain and in the dark for over an hour……

“Loved our stay. Our first family trip away with our 10 week old baby and even she loved it. We had everything we needed at our finger tips. The only slight downfall was the Wi-Fi connection. It was quite hard to connect to and very slow. Being in an area with poor reception for data, the Wi-Fi was definitely needed but we both struggled to get any use out of it. Amazing place though, would recommend. ”

“Perfect location. Enjoyed my walks to the friendly village pub the sun inn where I was made to feel very welcome as a single traveller. Coffee and Tea facilities but no milk. Tidy clean and Matthew even lent me a uk charger. I left mine in Australia.”

“Lovely caravan which was very clean and dog friendly. Well stocked including bowls for doggy. Communication from the owners was excellent. They even sent us a list of dog friendly walks some with dog friendly pubs. Lovely dog friendly pub Mason Arms just across the road from the camp where they let doggy sit under the table whilst owners had a meal. It was a small caravan site which was quiet and well laid out just what we needed.”
