Golden A-Frame is located at the end of a private road in the Sky Valley Community, where you'll delight in the seclusion. Gather with friends around the gas firepit out on the large deck or soak in the brand-new outdoor hot tub and melt that stress away! Head inside to hang out in the upstairs loft watching movies, playing video games, or lounging in the hanging swings. Or, hop in the car and take a short drive to Deep Creek Lake State Park, where there is plenty more to do.

Golden A Frame
Pictures of the property mislead me. I’ll own that. We’re a mature couple And we had higher expectations for the furniture comfort (couches and beds). Worst aspect was the beds. Mattresses were sponge material. You sink into the bed and it was an affront to change position or even roll over on this mattress. We opted to leave early rather than attempt a 2nd night sleeping in the sponge. All that being said … if a young family rented this home, I’m thinking it may be a home run.

Nice getaway
The cabin was small but had everything we needed for a nice weekend. We had some trouble with the code and not being able to re-enter the property but the property management team worked with me to get us in. They were very helpful and I appreciate their patience and knowledge of working through the issue as I was a little stressed about it. We played the games in the lower level. My dog was afraid to use the spiral stairs so we didn’t utilize the upper level and took our pup to the lower level from the outside. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and cookware. We also enjoyed the hot tub and cooked some hot dogs on the grill. We had a nice time here.

Nice quiet escape
We had a lovely quiet weekend. Perfect spot for a weekend get away. The front door lock malfunctioned and the property manager quickly responded and had a new lock installed. We even got some great tips for restaurants from the kind gentleman that installed it.

Rustic getaway
Quiet, peaceful setting at the end of a steep, private road. Kids/teens enjoyed the game room in the basement, outdoor swings, large deck with plenty of seating, grill, and hot tub. Be prepared for no AC. Bedrooms have ceiling fans. We brought a box fan which was useful in the main living space.

Weekend get away
Pulled into the driveway and noticed that there were cob webs and dirt all over the exterior. Once inside the place was clean. The blower to clean the deck off was dead and when asked for a new battery to blow off the deck no one responded. We found a house broom and cleaned enough so we could use the deck and hot tub area. There were a few exterior lights that did not work and no tub stopper for our 2 year old to take a bath. Overall this is a very nice place but needs a clean upon the exterior.

Had a serious family emergency and was completely unable to contact the host (vacasa). Multiple messages sent with no reply, called customer service and they said there was nothing they could do. Will never be using vrbo or vacasa again.

This property was not ready for us when we checked in. The driveway, walkway and deck was not cleared of snow when we arrived. It took several calls and negotiations to get a response from the property management company. The property management company told us there is a snow shovel near by and salt is next door. The main bathroom sink does not drain, loose tiles in the bathroom, missing window trim in the living room and cob webs throughout the property - very dusty. This property is not well maintained.

Cozy winter stay!
My husband and I and our two daughters absolutely loved our stay at the Golden A-frame! The neighborhood is quiet and secluded. The house is so beautiful with such great touches! We lucked out with our stay and timed it during major snowfall which added to the beauty! Thank goodness for our 4WD! Or two pups were not impressed with the cold temps and snow, but loved the woodstove. They were scared of the sprial open staircases, so we ended up carrying them up and down as needed. We would definitely recommend staying at this charming house!

Perfect Cabin Getaway
The cabin was just what we were hoping for. We had a great stay with some friends. The hot tub and fireplace were exactly what our chilly and rainy fall weekend needed. The first floor beds are VERY soft so if you are a firm mattress person use the bedroom on the bottom floor.

Fun cabin getaway
Clean, modern, and cozy cabin. For those reserving this cabin in the future, be sure to bring all the kitchen essentials - coffee filters, k cups, spices, condiments, and oil. We ended up having to make a run to the grocery store (nearest store 20 minutes away) for these basics. Also, pick up some firewood on your way in to the cabin! We kept a fire burning during our whole stay and I regret bringing my axe instead of purchasing firewood. Great stay!

Our 7 day vacation stay at an A frame house
The modern A frame house was very pretty with above average amenities . However , I feel we were deceived : It was suppose to have an intendo gaming system in the loft and it was NOT there Nor were there any games . Main problem which minimized our comfort was the main “ceiling fan” was not working . They claimed everything was working and operable when we checked it but in reality after calling vacasa many times And insisting that they come and inspect it , they said it needed a new unit which would take a week or so . We therefore did not have a main large ceiling fan during a week that was quite hot and humid in the woods! Also , we could NOT leave screen doors open (2 out of 3) because the screens were not properly sized to the size of door and there was a gap of 1/4 of an I nch on top and bugs could get in! Made it hot and uncomfortable to cook in the kitchen and eat with just a regular fan. Last but not least the basement bedroom had no closet . They provided a flimsy coat hook attached to wall . When I was trying to hang a couple of my outfits it fell down and made Hole in wall. Couldn’t hang most of my Clothing in the room. There was another small One on the right side which I used for nightgowns and beach attire , bathing suits etc.. As I said before during my numerous conversations with vacasa managers: someone needs to do a thorough inspection of entire house and repair/ fix and r provide what is missing . Lousy excuse was given to us that they could not check it because it was rented during prior week . They can still come and repair and or inspect right ? They had from 10 Am to 4 pm to do a thorough walk thru inspection but they were negligent in doing so . If items cannot be timely fixed or available they should be removed from amenities provided otherwise it’s misleading . I am waiting for at least a 25 percent discount on the cost of the weekly rental for all my time , frustration and inconveniences Sincerely Magaly Dunckley

Fun little getaway

The perfect romantic winter mountain getaway- cute, cozy, clean, modern, all the amenities you could want, close to the lake, close to Wisp resort. We had an amazing stay and were so happy to find this wonderful cabin in the woods!

The pictures online matched the property perfectly. The only reason I gave it a 4 on cleanliness is due to cobwebs up in the windows and tall parts of the ceiling but it was clean. I did have to reach out to management when we arrived because when I turned on the water there was dirt in the water. The management company told me that the hot tub had been serviced that day and to just run the water a few minutes. That seemed to do the trick. We decided to use the hot tub on the last day but when we lifted the cover there was dirt all in the bottom of the hot tub. I did not contact anyone because it was our last day and not worth the service call. The house is adorable and the owners have done a great job fixing it up. I would stay here again without question.

Great A-frame in the woods
We loved this beautiful house! It was relaxing and just what we needed - an accessible get-away into the woods and mountains that still had all of the amenities in the kitchen and outside that we needed and enjoyed. We really enjoyed the quiet and our pups enjoyed all of the windows on the first floor, watching it snow. We'd love to come back again!

Great get away!
This house is great! Just as pictured, modern cabin, plenty to do including the hot tub that we couldn’t get enough of, games, movies, and then of course all the lake activities. They provided towels, linens, toilet paper, dishes, pans, utensils, soaps, sponge, dish towels, fresh sheets, etc. We went jet skiing and boating with a tube at Fun Times Water Sports (loved it there!), river swimming at Swallow Falls Canyon Trail, swimming at Deep Creek State Park (dogs can go there too including the beach area just not on the actual sand but plenty of green grass picnic areas around the sand where they’re welcome), climbing at Monkey Business, and riding on the Wisp Mountain Coaster (get there early or you’ll wait in 1 hr lines for each ride). You can also swim at the docks on the lake in the neighborhood which is about a 4 min drive from the house but no pets which is just dumb because it’s a park-like atmosphere. Restaurants are open (we did carry out from Unos, Lakeside Creamery, and The Green Turtle- picnic tables out front so we ate there) and there’s a Lees Market (size of a 7-11) down the road from the house, and a Shop n Save in McHenry. The house is high on a hill in the woods with a few houses nearby. Note the steep gravel roads to get to the house within the neighborhood. It’s 15 minutes from the closest restaurants on the lake and a gorgeous drive there! The house is very cool and all was very clean. The company Vacasa can be hard to get into touch with. We called to ask how to turn off the hot tub and to fix the deck fire table (for s’mores). We saw that someone came out because things were moved around on the deck and the empty gas tanks were picked up but no message on how to turn off the hot tub and the fire table still wouldn’t turn on. If you hit the ‘jet’ button a few times the tub will go off temporarily but we could hear it go back on sometimes (on a timer?). We loved that we could bring our small dog. (Note the steep spiral stairs can be tricky.) He came on the pontoon with us, to the mtn coaster (not on the ride obviously), and hiked/played at the gorgeous Swallow Falls (the dog trail entrance is just outside the park entrance: park in the gravel lot that is beside the one lane bridge and cross the road to the trail. AMAZING 1/2 mile trail along waterfalls.) We swam and played in the water and falls all day. It was supposed to rain and storm everyday this week but only had one passing storm last night. What an amazing vacation!
