About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Waterfront Cabin with Hot Tub! Free Kayaks & Canoes, Fishing Boats, & Bicycles!

Small waterfront 1-bed private cabin with a view of an undeveloped state-owned island. It is about the size of an extended-stay hotel room. There is a double-sized bed and a pull-out sofa bed that will accommodate 2 children.

There is a small kitchen area and a bathroom with a shower. There is a Smart TV with both WIFI and cable.

Everything you'll need is included - linens, bedding, silverware, dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, hand soap, paper towels, bathroom tissue, and hand towels.

There is a Circle K gas station with all the necessities that is open 24/7 just 2 1/2 miles away. There is a large Kroger grocery store about 5 miles from the cabin that is open until 10 pm.

Enjoy the free use of our kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and fishing boats, to navigate between the beautiful islands across from your cabin. While the river is usually no higher than waist deep, life vests for both adults and children are provided and required by law.

There is a 12-mile-long hiking and biking trail that abuts our property and runs through the woods along the river. We have complimentary bikes of every size.

My husband and I purchased the 12 cabins that are "Riverwood Log Cabins" in 1998 and live midway through the property in the brown "A" frame should you need anything.

We even supply wood for your first campfire!

Well-behaved pets are always welcome at no extra charge but, must be on a leash when outside when other pets are present. Smoking is permitted outside.

Thanks

The hosts were amazing! Our pup Ryder was right at home. Parker shared great stories and allowed us to see some of the highlights of the camp. We had a great fire and the hot tub was perfect! We will be back.

Nice weekend get away
It was a very nice and unique trip. Just myself, my husband and our two dogs. The cabin is perfect for 2 people. The view is amazing and you're literally right next to the river. The hot tub was wonderful, with the river in the background. Plenty of kayaks, but we utilized the paddle boat the most. The owners are extremely friendly, pleasant and truly care if you are enjoying your stay or not. There were two downfalls. 1. The water (well) is horribly stinky. We bought a few gallons to do dishes in and beush our teeth. 2. The neighboring cabin had a very large and very vocal dog. We could barely let our dogs to enjoy the outdoors because their dog was out alot and would not quit barking. All dogs bark and I get it but my dogs were there and they didnt bark. We were woken up Saturday and Sunday both at 630 to it barking. Made it hard to enjoy our hot tub and coffee in the morning. This was in no way the Parker and Cathys fault (owners of cabin). I just wish others were more respectful with their animals.

The host was delightful. Our dogs loved being able to run and play. My adult daughter and teen son loved the kayaking. There was a hiking trail for nice walking. Lots of attention to detail by the host for our enjoyment, as well as quaint and welcoming furnishings. We will be back with a youth group soon.

Great hosts and cute cabin
The outdoor setting was nice and the hosts were extremely kind and accommodating - they even brought us a deck of cards! We were able to use our stand-up paddleboard and borrow a kayak. The only downside was the pungent and prevalent smell of sewer gas, and don't expect to swim or want to touch the river water. I would stay again if it weren't for the smell, but truly amazing hosts!

Refresh and Rejuvenate
My mom and I were looking for a quite get away with our pups to relax and enjoy the outdoors. That's exactly what we got during our stay. We were right on the river where we spent most of the time outside. The free access to kayaks, paddle boats and canoes was an amazing bonus. Plus when we arrived, we found out there's a hot tub! Our dogs were able to greet neighbors as they shared the outdoor space. It was everything we were looking for - small, simple, and serene.

Anniversary Get away.
The cabin was just what we needed. Quiet and peaceful. We took a memorable canoe ride down the river which was made possible by a river drop off by Parker so we floated with the current. The towpath is steps away which allowed for morning walks. Would definitely consider a return.

Quiet riverside retreat
Overall I rate the owners and the location A+. The accuracy of the cabin description on VRBO and the actual property differ. A little understocked in the kitchen, however, the owners bent over backwards and loaned us their dishware, salad bowls, etc from their house. We were hosting several guests for dinner and they helped make it easy.

Slightly misleading
Upon arrival, the owners were so kind and great! They greeted us and were so friendly. The doors were left unlocked with key inside, which was strange for us. The cabin, while extremely clean, was not really described properly in the listing. The bed is a futon, which was small for my 5'11" husband. There were no dishes, or towels that we could find. The listing states that all of that is included. There is not really room for two vehicles as listed. The reviews did say that water is stinky, which is definitely true, but they do provide clean water also which is amazing. It seems smaller than even an extended stay hotel, and there is not a ton of room in between the futon and the rest of the bedroom. If the listing was a bit more accurate, we may not have booked, but I do want to state that the owners were so easy to communicate with, incredibly kind and helpful.

Nice quiet get away. We wanted something private and away from the public and this was it.
The property owners were charming and easy to contact when needed. The master suite has a comfortable large bed. Air-conditioning is amazing we were cold when we came in from the river. The kayaking was nice with lots of little areas to explore, I went out each day and found something new. Easy access to bike trails and a short ride to the playground for my son to play. We brought our pets and they were easy to manage and care for in the environment. The view was amazing from the cabin we had the curtains drawn back all week. This will definitely be a new place for us, glad we found this gem.

Great value and perfect for a quick weekend get away
The property was well maintained and the house was clean. Owners were very friendly and accomodating. There were gorgeous river views from the huge windows, and a huge back porch facing the bank. The pictures don't do it justice. Bring some bug spray (youre on the water) and bait if you like to fish, owners even provided fishing rods! The tap water is sketchy, as the other reviewer warned. But the owners provided tons of bottled water and a gallon jug for the coffee maker. Definitely not a deal breaker for us. We will return!

Needs some improvements
I have two complaints. First, the Internet service was not working, even though the property was advertised as having internet. And the cell coverage for t-mobile is not good there. Really, it is not a big deal to live without Internet, but it should not be advertised as having service. Second, the water smells HORRIBLE. I have lived with well water my entire life so I know this can be treated. The sulfur smell was so bad that we literally gagged washing the dishes. Showering in it was torture!! I am not exaggerating here....I have never smelled water so disgusting! The cottage is nice and relatively clean and the owner is super helpful and friendly. This could be a great place to stay, but I would not recommend staying there until they get the water treated.
