We had to enter from the backside of the property. Room was fine and breakfast was typical Hampton. Surrounding area looked safe and it was an easy 5 min drive to Ark Encounter. The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights' sleep. Everything was quiet, even though there was construction going on. They serve a very good hot breakfast and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Construction going on in the lobby so we thought that may be the problem. Evacuated the hotel to our vehicle. Checked the front desk to discover staff member hyperventilating into the phone with the fire department. Smoke on the 3rd floor was all I could hear. We spent an hour and a half in our vehicle only to be given the all clear from one of the other guests.
