Florida Panhandle Fishing Vacations

We were on 38 for about a week and had rented a home however I had heard that this property had great reviews and my six-year-old daughter really needed a pool to play in so we decided to try it for two days. And let me tell you I was blown away. This is one of the best resorts I have stayed at in my whole life because of the amenities you get access to the beach club, which is completely separate than the pool on the hotel property, the beach club is a few steps around the corner from the hotel and is multilevel right on the beach. It is fabulous for adults and kids very family oriented. It even has a small gift shop next to the pool to buy items like pool noodles or Floaties or Popsicles. You can take the bridge next to the pool and walk over to the beach.. one of the pools is adult only. I also was able to enjoy some live music. I believe you might want to check out their event calendar where they will list what activities they have that day. The community is so nice. We had rented some E bikes and strolled through the nature trails on the property and went to camp watercolor the next day, which is next to the property and also accessible with your hotel stay. I actually preferred the beach club better. However the camp watercolor is really cool for kids because it has a bunch of slides and different pools plus the lazy river. It is very pricey and I believe they will require you to have a two nights deposit if you book directly through them so booking thru Expedia better.

Pros: beautiful view, and the room was nice Cons: a/c issues twice had to move rooms. Website marketing was misleading - numerous dogs on property even though the website said otherwise, and my fiance is allergic to dogs so she had health issues most of the trip. When I messaged the resort about this issue and a possible departure and refund, the resort staff was very rude and the customer service was atrocious. Website advertises resort feel, however only 2 small restaurants and a tiny market. No adult areas or privacy opportunities aside from staying in your room. Room had no soundproof - while my fiancé was sick in bed from dog allergies from your property, we could hear all activity outside the room late at night, and clearly hear our neighbors fighting and slamming doors until 4am. Needless to say, the “resort” and every pool was packed and our only escape was back to our room. I would recommend Portofino island resort only to locals that are looking for a quick getaway with their kids.
